Man, i really wish she hadn't gotten injured, I think she may be one of my favourite gymnasts of all time! Love that she came from a "non gymnastics" country and still managed to pull out all these huge skills.
Exactly! I hope she'll continue elite after her recovery and wins an AA medal at worlds. She's definitely my favourite gymnast right now. I love her bubbly performance on FX and how she throws difficult skills as if it was nothing. I just want her to upgrade her bars. She's capable of a longer routine than her extra short one where she needs to count a backward giant to her difficulty value.
The majority of international and Olympic medals have come from Trampoline gymnastics in Canada and all from the same club. Sky riders and Dave Ross. He’s a genius. Here is Canada the gym coaches still have arrogance towards trampoline sports yet we have all the hardware. Clubs in Ontario seem to realize the importance of trampoline to help gymnasts but coaches in the west don’t have patience of recognizing the value of trampoline. I literally had a coach say……You have 3 athletes and 6 minutes on trampoline. I just shook my head and said don’t waste my time.
Fact: Canada is not among the big 4 gym nations ie USA RUS ROM CHN. However Canada has great coaches like Lee's coach, who also coached 04 Olympic floor champ Kyle Schewfelt. Vaculik and Moors are coached by Soviet Olympic Champions Davydova and Saadi, respectively. Canada proves that you can run a program on only $250 000, and beat the well funded systems of ITA, GBR, GER, JPN, AUS. Gymn Canada will get more funding because of their 5th place team finish and two vault finalists in London.
The fact that there is not much funding for gymnastics in Canada does nothing but confirm Canada's status as a non gymnastics country. Canada does not typically win medals in worlds or at the olympics and didn't even qualify a team to compete in the mens competition this olympics. Regardless of whether they had some good athletes before (I'm hardly denying that they did) they would have the status of "non gymnastics" country as they aren't generally a medal contender.
Really? UK Sport stated that gymnastics received 10.7million pounds for 2012. They will probably get more funding in 2013 with all the medals won at the Olympics and Europeans. Canada may be underfunded, but the clubs seem to be thriving.
It's not an opinion. If a country is not winning medals in a specific sport one can safely state that they are not among the "big" countries of that sport. In response to your winter Olympics comment, well there's a lot to say. Firstly, though canada won more medals, the US also won medals. But mainly, um the winter olympics is a group of sports, not a singular sport so your logic makes absolutely no sense.
Um, the US has won medals in Hockey, and the US isn't a curling country. Curling countries would be like Canada, sweden etc. I'm really not sure if you're arguing with me or agreeing with me, as everything you are saying seems to confirm my thesis.
I'm begging of you to make a d score fore Shantessa Pama 2004 Nationals Finals Bars she is so good and is one of the few gymnasts to of landed a triple back dismount
So you mention before that Canada does not have the funding for gymnastics, and now say they support the sport? Interesting logic. Non-gymnastics countries are countries that don't typically do well at worlds or olympics. I'm not saying they're inferior at all, in fact I'm saying it's even more impressive how big Lee's skills are considering she is from a country which does not have the same depth in coaching nor the same level of competitiveness as say the States, China or Russia.
A 1 and 1/2 to arabian and a doouble layout in the same routine w0w. Ita a shame she counts three c elements because she is capable of so much more than a 6.0
And I don't know what you mean by "wmens hockey has beaten you the last 3 olympics". It makes no sense. The US may have a curling team, but they rarely, if ever win medals. Curling is not a sport the US is known for just as gymnastics is not a sport canada is known for. That's the simple definition of "non-gymnastics country" and if you cannot grasp that, god help you.
I don't know why you're referring to womens hockey as beating me. Do you even know what country I am from? Your analogy to the winter olympics makes absolutely no sense. Please explain the connection between the Americans not winning the most golds in 2010 to Canada's lack of international success in the singular sport of international gymnastics. Please note adding personal attacks about my "intelligence" is hardly making you look like a shining beacon of education.
I love her personality!! ♥

she's going to UCLA and she's gonna be on the gymnastics team there.. i hope she'll come back to elite after college like anna li did!

Hopefully she'll do elite along with college just like Kristina Vaculik or Mackenzie Caquatto did!
GBR isn't as well funded as you might think.
