Some fun facts about some of the references and jokes: -The Florida ballots found in the fire place are referencing the recount of 2000 when George Bush Jr was running for president against Al Gore. -the scene where the wheelchair guy is going against the ghost in a wheelchair and they show that they h as d Firestone tires were to reference when Firestone had a major recall because their tires were exploding. It's kind of like when Toyota had cars where the gas pedal would get stuck and caused people to crash. -Also, when the wheelchair guy says "I can't feel my legs" and they tell him "Wait, you never did." This is a reference to another Wayans Bros film, Don't Be A Menace when they made a similar joke when they're visiting Crazy Legs.
The Firestone Tire controversy was about their tires exploding because the vehicle manufacturers recommended the tires be inflated to lower pressures than what Firestone recommended. And because of the tires exploding, drivers would over react and then crash their vehicles. Firestone became the scapegoat for the "too big to fail" companies.

James Woods is the voice of Hades in the Disney movie Hercules. He liked playing the character so much that he so far has voiced Hades in everything and wants to keep doing so until he's unable.
I always loved the fact that they put the movie Hollow Man in here and rarely do I ever see someone else mention it lol. This one is def my fav out of all of them.
It's not one of Paul Verhoeven's best movies I'd say, but I'm always recommending Hollow Man to people. It's such a fun thriller, and Kevin Bacon... well enough said.

The song that Chris Elliot (butler) sings to Sidney is the same one Reverend Cain sings in Poltergeist 2. The Firestone tire joke refers to a scandal at the time where the tires were failing and causing deadly accidents. The Florida ballots is a reference to the Bush vs Gore election of 2000.
About the Firestone tires: it was more about the huge scandal back then. There were multiple complaints about Firestone tires defects and leading to the tires exploding.
My favorite scene was that parody of that Nike commercial that was so popular at the time. Kids who are now in their teens or twenties and watch this movie won't understand the reference, but these parodies on commercials and movies of that time were great.
I love Scary Movie 2. Sadly, after this, the studio stole the franchise out from the Wayans and it all fell downhill. While 3 has its fans, and I've even seen people call it the best in the series, for me it was a far cry from the greatness of the first two. If you can, try to look up the original ending. It's definitely a different take but I think it works a lot better.

Oh god, I grew up-ish, I was 18-19, with scream, and got the whole idea of it, the parody of old slasher movies. Scary movie was great, and a very funny parody of a parody by taking it further… Hanson was ridiculously funny, even by those standards. It’s just starting to hit the “makes no sense out of context” level. There are many jokes that only make sense if you lived in america at the time it was made , notable as someone not in America when it was released as they made no sense then. Modern versions fall flat even in America between being made and released.
You definitely need to watch Once Upon a Time in America. It has James Woods and Robert De Niro, It's an early gangster era movie and I rate it up there with the Godfather.
