I am getting older everyday , retired with one foot in the grave, all of which is neither here nor there. I can tell you this, I listen to B J M immediately , without hesitation (this album because of its obscurity) long before my morning ritual is put into play ~
And you shall be richly rewarded for your courageousness my friend friend. I have listened to this at 2am on a french motorway in the snow, wife 2 kids and a baby fast asleep in the van. Perfect accompaniment.
@@johnwest7525 How do you cope with the thought of death? this brings me alot of anxiety. What are your regrets? i would love to hear from a fellow bjm listener. i am only 22 :)
Beautiful and indispensable (personally in my life) One of the best compilation that I ever heard!Between If I made fault on certan words it’s because I'm French then sorry by advance !!!
First heard BJM in 1996 because I saw Zia Mc Cabe of the Dandy Warhols wearing a BJM t-shirt. My first album was Take it from the Man. THIS MUSIC CHANGED MY LIFE! At art school in Savannah, Georgia BJM was a stoner's delight, and inspired a lot of trippy art. Thank You Anton!
61 - only caught the bug at 54 -- then POW -- I hadn't been so smitten and full of wonder of any musicians since hearing Neil Young and The Rolling Stones in 1971. . I think that solves Anton's staled goal to be ""Relevant and Part of the music vernacular. "
Well, I don't know what the Rev is talking about. For me, I can't get enough of this band's music. Yeah, I know A. Newcombe is the major (and only constant) force behind it all. Still, he has along noteworthy contributors (Matt Hollywood among others) and fashions a sound and feel like no other. Cooler than most. Better than most. Just does what he wants and his fans, like me, LOVE it!
I agree some of the Best and coolest music ever and don't forget about Peter Hayes who went on with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club who I'll be seeing in St. Louis in about a week 😀
TwoPointsUp the people whos face he kicked in, completely deserved it. that was almost 20 years though. at his worst he just tells a sound guy to f off every once in a while these days. ive seen him live 7 times since 2010.
***** CD sounds better than vinyl, hate to break it to ya hipsters. The warmth people claim to hear on vinyl is an artifact and actually further from the original recording source.
***** In a thread about sound quality, you just made a post telling people that vinyl was the 'better' purchase. That's objectively false, you're free to spend your money as suits your own preference, but I'm not knocking on your door of your home to tell you you misspent your money on vinyl; you're espousing a personal preference on a public forum, in contrast to established science, and I'm correcting that misconception. Personally, I don't give a shit if you waste your money on vinyl, especially, if it helps Anton earn a living from music
Try to find a band with more than 10 albums and no slumps in their career ?? Now try to find a BJM album that is a dud. Its amazing to me that such an unstable personna with an unstable group managed to have a constant quality in all theirs albums.
Oh, the irony…..So, the guy trolling several BJM threads on here passionately defending bernard sumners's reputation is telling me not to worship rock musicians……….. just about every person on this planet can be described as weak and foolish. including the four examples(short list!) you cite.
***** Do you really have nothing better to do than continue to come back to a video by a band you apparently hate and comment about stupid shit? Stop being a fool, go find a video you do like and enjoy yourself.
Silver. You are a loser. You do not know Anton. Do you believe everything you hear and read? I know Anton. He is a great person and musician. The garbage that you are spewing is comical. Get a life.
I know I said surf guitar but I was kind of playing with Omelettes, maintenance playing as I feel less and dealing with going Mamba style towards people.
Just found this band i think they rock! However this anton guy seems like a bit of a prick. He is no Jeff magnum from neutral milk hotel but its similar
This band had a lot of potential- the lyrics are not really very good at all but the guitar layering is great- the sound is intentionally derivative but works. There isn't any need though to be so completely obvious in their imitation of the Stones and Beatles ACCENTS - it sounds ridiculous - and it really undermines their stature as a serious band- IF LOVE IS THE DRUG is the standout.
born1965channel If you think the accents are anything close to British, you have not lived there. Do you think they are speaking or singing with London dialect? Educate me please
It's funny how some of the greatest 60's albums were recorded in the 90's.
If 6's were 9's.

I'm on the same boat.
BJM has that effect.
My mom introduced me to these guys when I was 6 in 2002, stuck with me all this time. Such amazing music

Love Anton's music no matter how he flips out. In the end it's amazing.
