Looks wonderful, Fiona! Yes, in the states we will use white sauce “gravy” seasoned with salt and pepper on scones “biscuits” as a breakfast meal (usually served with eggs and a meat: fried bacon slices or sausage….but we also serve it on mashed potatoes, as well, like you did in this video. I have never used parsley in it though, but will give that a try!
Hi Heather! Thank you so much for explaining about the white sauce/ gravy! It's lovely to hear food stories from different countries 😊. Have a wonderful Sunday. God bless 🙏 Fiona.
Hi Fiona.. Looks amazing...I always boil my cabbage in the bacon water gives it a nice flavour....everyone has their own version.... I must admit I never make my own white sauce....I always buy the packet....just so much easier....😃
Oh Maxine you should try making your own white sauce next time....it is a so much tastier than the shop bought...go on have a go! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I just liked up southern fried cabbage and it looks like it could originate from the Irish bacon + cabbage dish! I had never heard of the southern fried bacon and cabbage! I think I'll try it soon! It looks delicious 😋 thank you so much for watching and commenting 😊
