I like actress Ann Gillespie too. She stopped acting to become an ordained minister but still came back in the later 90210 (the one with Erin Silver and her friends at West Beverly) to finish Jackie’s story.
Yeah I totally agree I really like her from the moment she's clean. Although she starts to get a bit toxic in season 5 or 6 wind there is a mother-daughter photo shoot around the time Kelly is in the fire
I've been watching the entire series on Pluto for a week now and all I can say is this show started going South during sophomore year of 90210 college. Mistake 1: getting rid of Brenda. I knew it was a mistake but I had no idea what a BIG mistake. Mistake 2: trying to replace Brenda with Kelly. Really bad idea. Brenda was the lead female on the show. They got rid of her and made Kelly the lead female but worse yet, they completely changed Kelly's personality. They literally tried to turn her into Brenda. I used to like Kelly. I really did until college when they changed her. She was constantly playing the victim. She did to Dylan (with Brandon) what she did to Brenda (with Dylan). She turned into a perpetual, holier-than-thou pedestal victim. Mistake 3: changing Brandon's personality. He went from the king of integrity to sleeping with everyone. No wonder Andrea had issues with him. He's too honest and integrity-minded to do drugs but not too full of integrity to sex up a married professor and then both of his Bffs ex-gf (and don't get me re-started on Kelly). I don't recognize him at this point. Mistake 4: WTH they did to Donna. Too much bleach blonde. Her growth would have been pushing her smarts, not her body. Smh. Absolutely no growth to the character. She actually regressed. Mistake 5: Valerie Malone. Terribly written character and yet another Brenda wannabe. Just overall a horribly storyboard character. There was no point to her. And god she was boring. And putting her with Dylan only proves the point of wanting to do another replacement Brenda because they were to busy trying to make Kelly the new queen bee - and don't get me started on the Brandon/Kelly re-write. Mistake 6: making Andrea pregnant. And believe it or not, straightening her hair. Taking away her glasses was one thing but making her look like all the other girls did her in. Her curly hair was one of her trademarks. Jesse was not a fleshed out character. They had zero chemistry and they wrote her into a corner (unless Gabrielle wanted to leave). I'm only on Season whatever in college with the Ray guy but damn so many mistakes. They should have done ANYTHING to get Shannen back. Biggest mistake ever. So far the only positives I'm seeing: Claire, Susan, even Emily. All strong characters very well fleshed out. Unbelievable how unwatchable it's become.
I read somewhere that THEY DID try to get Shannen back on the show after Luke and Jason left the show to get the ratings up, but Shannen said NOPE! I don't blame Shannen after the whole cast turned against her. Shannen's exit is a mix of reasons of her bad behavior and the other girls JEALOUSY and wanting to be the lead.
Gabrielle was pregnant in resl life so they wrote it into the show. I agree that her story fell apart once she entered college but then again, after a while, Andrea believed she was missing out on having sex. To me, Valerie legitimized turned 90210 from a cheeky teen show to a primetime soap. She was edgy. Youre right about Donna's character. They may have changed writer's at that point. They wanted to explore themes that weren't seen on tv from the teen perspective which was a big deal back then. It did the job for its time. This show aired shows during the summer hiatus, changing the game.
And Kelly breaks up their family by stealing Brendas BF and then goin after her brother while his parents become oblivious to their daughters heartbreak and having an ongoing acceptance to Kellys hypothetically stance to a so called family friend Valerie is acceptance is beyond my comprehension
Why did people in their 40's look like they were 50-60 back then 😂? And here I am with a 2 year old at 41 trying for baby #2 and it's the most normal thing in the world. Back then it was a shock if you didn't have babies before 25....

I like Kelly’s mom after she clean up her act she was the best

They were a well-casted mother and daughter
Yes they look like each other.
I disagree.@@stevemorse108
@@svin7987Vickie Lawrence would have been a great cast for Kelly’s mom. Kelly looks more like Vickie Lawrence.
I just wrote something similar. They look so much alike. They could really pass for mother and daughter.

Saint Ho Kelly. The writers trying to make Kelly a saint while she slept with everyone was laughable.

Because people were more mature and adult in general. Today's 40 somethings can be a joke.

I always thought Kelly and Jackie looked alike. I wonder if that helped get the actress the 'mom' role.
