Awesome video! Can you do a video of a turkey that's not strutting broadside? I imagine it's different because the wing placement is not on the same spot.

I just shot a beautiful tom in that exact spot yesterday, didn't go anywhere!! Flopped in place for 20 seconds and that was it, very affective!

Awesome, glad to hear it! Congrats on the bird.

The problem I have is other Tom’s driving the wounded bird off the decoys after the shot, the last one driven 31 yards from the decoy set up!

Could you add a link to the right broadlead in the description pls. Just to have quicker access for reference. Would it work just as well for crossbow?

Today was my first day ever turkey hunting. Im blessed with turkey that I can walk right up to on my friends property.
I had a shot at about 10 yards. I made sure to hit around the hips like you brought up and sure enough the bird went about 20-30 yards and just relaxed. I had to take another shot to break the neck and finally put it out but that bird never left my sight after the first shot. I'm so grateful for this info you provided because there is a good chance I would have lost that bird if I didn't get the legs.

After using guillotine arrows and aiming for the head I don't think I'll never use a broadhead when turkey hunting. Stops them in their tracks instantly and makes for a quick kill. I personally don't trophy hunt though so I could see why some wouldn't want to use them.

When they hit the ground and start flipping around, are they dead and twitching or do we run up and twist their necks.

What about those who shoot recurve/longbow? Use a three head broad bead?

Head shot! Clean kill or clean miss!

That's the next video, we learned that the hard way! We only recommend the headshot if you are going to use a guillotine style broadhead!

So shooting them in the Shiny spot disables them but doesn’t kill them?

    • @raisedhunting
      @raisedhunting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Typically it kills them right away, but there is occasional times where it may not kill them right away and you will have to shoot them again.

All bs , I've listen to this last night , this morning hit the "shiny spot" at 25 yards , hit the leg on the bird , slowly the bird limped away making small flights , an hour later I stumbled on him in hi grass, he recovered and flew the hell off .
I think if I would of aimed at the vital , he would've stayed in place.

The guts are behind the shiny spot, stupid advice. Aim a little higher, the vitals are behind the short feathers at the top of the wing... a turkey hit in the heart/lungs isn't going far.

I hit one last fall in the heart/lungs and it still flew about 150 yards and dropped in the treeline

Feels so odd to am not at vitals . Aye I'm to scared to try lol mid ship with a rage usually go about 30 yards and don't chase em
