You have such an adventurous spirit. The people you met on the street seemed very nice and helpful. Seems like a wonderful place to live.

Your little plant seems like it really wants to be on camera and part of the conversation. :) Those two young men were adorable.

My husband is Canadian and we live close to the border in the US. It isn’t always easy to get through the border and driving in Canada (as an American) can be super stressful. Canadians are wonderful and the country is incredible, but they can be a bit reactive to US drivers. Especially in big cities where the traffic rules are different. I hope you are traveling West! You will be amazed at how gorgeous it is. I love British Columbia! So excited to watch your Canadian adventure!

What an ordeal! I feel for ya...being in a "foreign land" is one thing, but without internet? Yikes! But, for what it's worth, the drive to and the destination of Calgary looks beautiful. The city seems so clean. No elderly eople? Everyone you filmed seemed so young. I think you should go back sometime when you have a plan...maybe not the place to go on a whim? Oh well, I hope you enjoyed pieces of that adventure...know that at least your audience did! Your reactions and good spirit are gold.

Nicole was probably in a neighborhood of the city that attracts young people. Cities tend to cluster that way. Don't worry though, she'll have plenty of seniors like myself to film when she gets back to Florida!🤣

A few years ago we stayed at a hotel near Niagara Falls. We had terrible internet access and eventually realized our phones were connecting to towers across the border. Whoops! Also, I remember the first time I got gas in Canada. I couldn't figure out the money conversion and the cashier told me I could pay the same amount in either US or Canadian. I paid in USD -- how convenient! A few hours later I learned that the conversion rate (back then) was about 1 to .7, so I had overpaid quite a bit. Most Canadians are friendly but a few are sneaky! ;) Safe travels.

So cool you made it in Canada. I saw another van life channel not get across the border because of pepper spray and bear spray. I hope you have fun in Canada. I can’t wait to see all the gorgeous views and fun adventures.

Yes, the motel village in Calgary is a small little triangle of space. The mall parking lots, including Walmart, is generally not so fussy about overnight parking, except maybe a few towns in BC. Being up early and moving on helps you stay inconspicuous.

Was surprised to read you were in my beautiful city of Calgary! However, I was sorry to see things were rough for you during your first visit to Canada. I pray you ended up enjoying yourself...and that you felt welcome even after all the changes you endured! You are a trooper🙂
I enjoyed the vlog and I pray you enjoy the rest of your stay! Stay safe and happy Nicole and Callie!

Quite an adventure! You’re the 3rd van lifer channel I follow that is now exploring Canada…it certainly appears to be the “it” spot now! Love to see the 2 young brothers come up and welcome you to Canada (and get their faces in your TH-cam video 😂😂). Looking forward to seeing you travels there!

I wonder if next time you could meet up with a local to show you around and show you how to work the unfamiliar things. There’s a helpful community of vanlifers in town - yes, they do this in the -40 degrees - who can help with gas stations and litres and such.
Could be worse. You could have been doing MPH 😬😆

Hey Nicole, warch that raoming because it can be expensive when you return home. May want to purchase a SIM card in Canada or call your carrier, they may have a plan for certain foreign countries. Canada ia beautiful.

You seemed to be well prepared when you crossed the border. Canadian Border Services are usually quite thorough. Sounds like they didn’t give you a hard time, considering you are ‘self employed’ and ‘working’ in Canada.

Hi Nicole 😊 nice channel! You met me and Reggie today at Murrin Provincial Park. Thanks for the navigation help. If you run into any emergencies in Vancouver, you can send an SOS my way.....and be warned, Vancouver is terrible for car break ins, so be safe. 😊
