- A heap of years ago I started building this crazy beast for a guy, but his priorities changed and he sold it on so I never got to finish it. Pity! I'd smoothed a lot of the body, extended the sills down 3 inches, lengthened the body 5.5 inches to fit the blown small block etc etc. Music is by me.

This was clarification of a concept I had of attaching a single cab bed onto a double cab, mounting the body to a custom four wheel drive frame (with dually's), adding a V8 engine (diesel?) with no supercharger (turbo or two?)
behind the cab (radiator shroud under back seat), with a roll up/down rear window (and partial bus hatch?).
The full bed length would be widened to cover the dually's and enlarge the storage space (treasure chest) and make room for the features, ie: a fold away two ton hoist, custom roll off truck bed, removable dump bed (when needed), removable goose neck and fifth wheel hitches,swap-able winch (front to rear), compressor, generator, mig welder and other equipment .
The goal would be to have a multi-purpose vehicle for a farmer, junk yard shopper, recycler /scraper, scavenger, getting an off-roader pulled out and repaired enough to get home, etc... ;-)

My concept, Replace the double cab bed with a single cab bed add a modified Dodge 4 wheel (dully) frame and suspension (add 2" to 4" lift).
Widen the bed (full length) to cover dual rear tires (add to treasure chest). Install a mid mounted (behind cab) Diesel engine and other accessories (details not listed for brevity). ;-)

O motor da combi original é na traseira ele só manteve o lugar e colocou um v8

All that work and you did not make it mid engined.
Hiya. It was being built to suit Queensland registration. If I made it mid engined it would have needed to go ICV and cost an absolute fortune. It just came down to budget.
HI Tim, I had the same experience with the beetle that i am currently building, I was told I could go mid engine if i did not move the chassis number, I am in Queensland and have found an engineer that specializes in ICV's but have decided not to move the engine but I am in the process of installing double wish bone suspension at each end along with the Subaru gearbox to handle the power from a type 1 , 2.9 LTR turbo engine. Have you finished the car.
