Alrighty, I know someone else will point this out as well, but HERE GOES! When Alraune is talking about/to Madama Butterfly, she is talking to the demon which acts as Bayonetta's familiar of sorts. When you use her Wicked Weaves at the end of a combo, *with the default guns specifically*, it's a part of Madama Butterfly she is summoning to deliver the blow. All umbra witches, to finish their training, make a pact to a demon which makes the demon a sort of familiar. I forget the exact naming, but I believe Jeanne's is Lady Styx, and Bayonetta's is Madama Butterfly.
Yeap, that's pretty accurate as far as I can tell! Also they're all called Madamas, and a fan theory is they're the equivalent of the Auditio - The most powerful demons in Inferno. Madama Styx, Madama Butterfly, and Rosa's Madama Kephri being part of this group.
They also gain a lot of strength and wisdom from making a pact with a demon
Not their familiar, their sponsor. Literally. They grant the witches their power and wisdom

Yup and in the beginning of the game, you can see the shadows of Jeanne and Bayonetta's demons when they were looking at the ground.
I love how you can hear Rosa yelling out "Wonderful!" While the both of them are fighting. I know it's just her call outs similarly to how Bayo yells out "Excellent!" But it's sweet to imagine she's encouraging and hyping up her daughter while they both kick ass together ☺️
The language spoken by Alraune as well as by angels such as Cardinal Virtues is enochian. (pretty sure it is also used for the summoning incantations).
Enochian was created in the 1500s and was an occult language "received from angels".
The characters that are used on many imagery of the games, such as on portals, are also enochian letters.
As for why I'm hyped for Bayonetta 3? I've been waiting for this game for years, and the trailers look amazing. I want to gratify all the people that worked hard for years on it.
honestly just the idea that game is almost here is enough to be hyped. Gladly I haven't seen any trailer other than direct announcement one so I didn't spoil myself any enjoyment. Can't wait to see what whacky things are waiting for us.
Bayonetta 3 has dropped the Enochian. Baal (demon toad) doesn't speak it, anywsh. It's a real shame.
Also, the written languages aren't Enochian. They're just a simple cypher for the English alphabet.
@@dedded101 We don't know if they actually dropped enochian entirely, maybe only Baal and a few other "characters" speak english? I would be intensely disappointed if enochian had INDEED been dropped, because it was a big part of what made the angels and demons so badass.

@@math9172 No they haven’t. At the end of the Release date trailer, we can hear Bayonetta chanting in Enochian as she Kali Ma’s herself to summon the Godzilla demon.
@@dedded101 this. when i hear Baal speaking. why he no longer speak Enochian. he's a demon like Alraune as well. but for Homonculi didn't speak Enochian, i still can understand that they're man-made sentient. so they're not using Enochian is still make sense to me. but demon? i feel like its a DMC a little.
You did really well in the fight against Alraune, most people I've watched take a ton of damage the first time they fight her due to how fast she attacks but you just walked right through her with no trouble!
Fun fact, Rosa is bound in chains as punishment for breaking the law about having a relationship with a Lumen Sage and conceiving a child. Up until the angels attack Vigrid she'd been imprisoned, she and Balder hadn't seen each other in decades at this point.

The language Alraune speaks in is Enochian, a language created in 16th century and it's said to be the language of angels. It's the same language Bayonetta uses to summon the demons during climax

@@jens1639 If I'm not mistaken, Tolkien used bits of different words to create the languages for Middle Earth, no? Enochian was created by occultists, but I guess they just made everything up, don't have info if it's based of another language
You haven't used the whip (alruna) to its full potential.
You need to hold the button (depending on where you equip them) a bit longer during witch time or on enemies that are stunned so you can grab and slam them (if your on ground) or grab and pull them towards you (if your in mid air). And during umbran climax, you can grab them without a problem.
Combine that with other weapons, your combo may not break easily. (Please note that if you taunt enemies, witch time is reduced significally by half)
Use Alruna (Whips) on the feet as it deals more damage. If you hold the kick button while those are equiped, you can wrap the enemies on the whips and smash them on the floor. For mini-bosses and some bosses you can only wrap them while stunned or any time during Witch Time ✨️
It's amazing to see Deebee improve more and more, as well as the journal stuff. I never really paid much attention when I played through Bayo 1 and 2. So, it's nice to see.

The thought of the Bayonetta multiverse is such an interesting concept to me,t to think that there is more than likely any scenario or version of Bayonetta is so much fun to imagine
ive been playing bayonetta since i was like 10 (16 right now) this game has been my lifeline. like i cannot explain how excited i am for the game, it seems like theyve added so many new mechanics and feautures, and its so hard to put into words how excited i am.
Now the third has every mechanic and more which can be a bit to learn lol.

I'm so excited for bayonetta 3, it's fucking insane, i can't wait to see what crazy insane boss fights and setpieces we're gonna get and i can't wait to see my favorite characters again, character that have helped me get through so godamn much bs life threw at me
I am excited for Bayonetta 3 for what the twist in the story will be because there's always a twist in each game in the story.
I Love bayonetta because it's unapologetically it's own genre. Also imo by far the best combo / beat em up game. So excited for everything bayonetta 3 is gonna bring to the table
One absolut overlooked gem from Platinum games is astral chain. It has the hackn slash action but with an awesome twist by controlling two characters at once.
I'm playing that game right now. Really enjoying it.
i love bayonetta so much because of her flamboyant personality, her style, and her combat! she is such a confident character and leaves me more confident after i play it.

The friendship between Bayonetta and Jeanne is a really powerful thing in this series. Makes me wish we had the vocal version of Red and Black in the main games even more.
Rosa, possibly one of the best bayo character so far, purely so every fan can shout "mummy?!" when they see her for the first time. what a fantastic episode. the tag team summon is also super cool
Btw, worth noting to say you can actually grab enemies with the whip, just hold the button when attacking! (Some enemies will block you tho, but it always works during witch time)
Do try to hold the buttons more for all the weapons for extra damage, the scythe shots are some of the most damaging in the game!

Alraune is named after a folktale about Mandrakes, which are those flowers she summons on the battlefield in the first part. Essentially her and Madama Butterfly, also named after the play, have similar stories but Madama Butterfly is more well known. That's my understanding on why she hates her but there's probably more to it than that.
Alraune is also voiced by Tara Platt who voices Edelgard in 3 Houses and Satsuki Kiriuin in Kill la Kill. I also recently found out Hellena Taylor voiced Zorin Blitz in Hellsing Ultimate and she also voices Rosa in this game.
Damn each episode is getting more and more enjoyable with you man. I'm really excited to see how Bayo 3 will be (absolutely amazing of course)!

The Okami reference isn't just the lumen sage's wolf form but also the way flowers trail after him just like Amaterasu when she runs. Bayonetta's panther also has a trail of flowers but with skull heads.

Usually when Bayonetta uses her Wicked Weaves, the hair she uses as her clothes recede, making her almost naked.
In front of her mom (and after she realizes who the Masked Lumen is), she stays fully clothed even when using her Weaves (ex. when using the Witch/Sage statues’ lightning)
Madame Butterfly is the Demon Bayonetta has made her pact with. The Fists and Heels that Bayo makes appear are hers.

THIS IS THE BEST! Seeing Deebee’s reaction upon seeing Rosa for the first time in the last video, and NOW him gushing at how much of badass she is and being able to fight alongside her were some of the things I was eager to see, and it was VERY MUCH worth the wait!😍💗❤️🔥

It's funny, but I think even more than the action and the characters, and the (admittedly silly) story, I really love the way the designers incorporated real-world witch lore into Bayo's powers. A witch's hair was indeed believed to be a conduit of their powers, and appealing to sexuality was comparable to "casting a spell". Contracting demons were among their many powers, some of which even offered vast arcane knowledge to their contract holders. Madama Butterfly, Bayonetta's primary familiar, is described in the games' bonus content as imbuing her pact holder with enormous power and great wisdom.
As well, the strange language that angels and demons speak in (the same one whose characters circle the Gigaton prompt, and are used by sages and witches for their incantations) is called Enochian. It was developed by a self-proclaimed magician named John Dee in the 1500s. He claimed to have been taught it directly by a series of angels.
On a related note, despite what one would think, many self-proclaimed *werewolves* claimed to be holy warriors hunting evil in another form; which lines up with the Lumen Sage's ability to take the shape of a wolf.
Just have to say I love the Bayonetta series in you channel and the reason I am so excited for Bayonetta 3 is to see the new story they are going to tell us, the new fighting techniques and can't forget the music they will add to the the game to make it more fun when fighting bosses.
I was about to post the info about Enochian and Madama Butterfly when I saw how others already explained things beautifully :D You can also look up more info about the contracted Infernals and (Angels as well) in the book index in the menu (where you can reread the lore books you've collected) - these plythroughs of yours have been such a lovely reftesher and so fun to watch, I can't wait to watch you play Bayo3 after going through it on my own first :D I've been hoping for it since Bayo2 and waiting since the announcement of the sequel and I'm so hyped to watch my favorites witches being OP and kick some butt again :D
The language is the same language that Bayo, Jeanne, Balder, Angels etc chants when they do their summons. Also you can equip the whip Alruna to your feet to if you want to keep using Chernobog for your hands!
Teaming up with Rosa i so wild! And wait till you get to the next chapter, cause it gets even BETTER. Man, I wonder if there will be any team ups like this in Bayo 3, like Bayo an Viola just blasting out amazing combos. New mechanics, new weapons, new summons. Everything points to Bayo 3 being the BEST game of the franchise.

Love it when you appear back in time in Vigrid the aesthetic/artstyle, enemies and music from the first game are all over the place. Cus how much I lve the first game I immediately recognized all the enemies and music playing
For me I can just say it's "my heart" of my gamer-life. I discovered it in like 2010 or 2011 and since then it was my companion throughout the years. It made me smile with its little jokes here and there, gave me a bombastic story, made me theorize a lot (even rn with bayo3) and always showed me that a (relatively small) developer group can do something that AMAZING. Thats why I am excited for B3.
The demons and angels talk in Enochian. And whenever you call for a demon Bayonetta uses Enochian as well to call their names.
She's saying a summoning chant, not calling their names....
Like, when she says "PDEE BARMA" to summon Madama Butterfly, it translates to "First Elder", not "Madama Butterfl".

With Bayo3 right around the corner I'm so damn excited to see the new boss fights! The trailers showed the angels we've seen in previous games, so I hope there will be demon bosses again. My main theory is that mutliverse bayonettas will be the bosses, sounds sad AF, but would be excited to see that either way! We for sure going to get that Bayonetta dance off with all those combos!

You should try HOLDING the attack buttom more often, many weapons have different modifiers. Alruna(the Whips) for example, will pull small enemies close, and if you tilt towards them, you will pull yourself close. Its good to close gaps. And you should buy the other Techniques too, there are lots of fun and helpful stuff in them.
The crazy action, the fun story, the inventive new weapons and combos, F'ing Kaiju battles while dancing in the foreground! I love watching the animation detail in practice mode, if P* keeps or surpasses the insanity that was Bayo2 from Bayo1, the wait was worth it. Since the shocking tease where we see our titular star die, I'm been waiting to finally know whats gonna happen, are we playing as a grown up Cereza or another Universe Bayonetta? Since the release date was finally unveiled, B3 is the title I'm been waiting the most.

I'm happy Bayonetta is continuing to come out as I'm glad there is more lore to this magnificent world and that you can tell the world is developing and each time I keep wondering how they make it better following the storyline and figuring out how the weapons work against each enemy is my favorite part and then the characters who just fix the scenes is topping on the cake gor this Banger of a game. I've loved each installment
As a fun side note, the Angels you fight from the first game get no introduction because you've already experienced that in the first game. You only ever get it for completely new enemies.
Watching you play these is enough to convince me to replay Bayo 2

This game is coming out at a pivotal time for me. Like many others I've been waiting for years for its release. Bayonetta represents a side of confidence I wish I had in myself. I'm sure many feel like a badass when they play this game. I'm hoping to play this in-between me packing since I'm moving overseas in a few weeks. I will think of it as my last hoorah before I goand spend some time with my sister. She likes to watch me play video games it's practically a no no for me to play without her there lol!

If u wonder why Balder didn't recognize Bayonetta, it's because he never saw his daughter. when the lumens and the witches found out about the relationship and daughter of Rosa and Balder they punished them. Rosa was put in jail and Balder was exiled, Bayonetta was raised by the witches as a black lamb, she only could see her mom in the jail.

This is what I also love about Bayonetta!Well said deebee I absolutely love how this game shows the different times and realms it really shows how massive the world of Bayonetta is you are exactly right.
Fun Fact: the song that plays while Bayo rides the hell unicorn is "Friendship", the same song played in Bayo1 when Jeanne rode her motorcycle up the rocket. A Testament to how important Loki is to Bayo by this point in the story. He's like a son to her, and like every mother should she's off to save him.
We need to see him again all grown up! That would make me so happy.

I'm just gonna say it here since you made a reference to this, I love that you appreciate the story aspect of Beyo so much. With Beyo 3 out and, without spoilers; lacking in the quality of story telling compared to 1 & 2, there's been many who are acting as though no one cares about Beyonetta's story, and being rude toward the people who do care about the story of Beyonetta. The people saying this are also the ones saying "no one plays Beyonetta for its story you come for gameplay", which I know applies to some people but definitely not everyone. So once again, thank you for being the support towards the Beyonetta story.

Madama Butterfly is the demon lady that Bayo summons. She's like her main demon, the one she did her infernal pact with.
She's the giant hands and feet you summon in combos, the butterfly wings when you double jump, and the silhouette you see in Bayonetta's shadow.
Bayonetta's heels are also designed after her!

A little tip with Alrune (the whip) when using witch time, you can hold the kick or punch button and Bayonetta will grab the enemies and smash them... I always use Alrune on legs and Swords on Hands :p

this is one of my favorite boss fights in the game it's soooooo good
I prefer bayo 1 but my god the back in time moment with rosa is probably the best few levels in the franchise , its so high octane and has some great emotional highs.

That fight with Balder in Chapter 12 is one of the best fights in any character action game.
The fact that Rodin can casually block Bayo's punch like it's nothing really shows that he's probably the devil himself.
Which makes it funnier when he's just chilling with her at the Gates of Hell bar sometimes!

It was a punch from MADAMA BUTTERFLY and you can hear the sound effects used whenever she throws hands so you KNOW that Rodin is THAT powerful to block something the size of a bus with one hand!
Being completely honest, I finished this game years ago, when I was very busy with work and I liked it but I didn't enjoy it that much. Now I am seeing it again thanks to you and it's freaking amazing, much better than I remember. I really need to go back to play it. And I'll buy Bayonetta 3 too. And everything thanks to you. The language the angels and demons in this game are speaking is called Enochian. It is said to have been passed down by angels, thus also being dubbed the "Language of Angels". It wasn't made up for Bayonetta, but decide for yourself whether it's real or not...
It was just two guys in Elizabethan England who thought it up. They read too many apocryphal "fanfics" like the Book of Enoch and thought they were clever.
Due to recent revelations, my hype for Bayo 3 has definitely suffered...which is why I'm glad we still have a bit more of your reactions for Bayo 2 bc it cheers me up a bit. My thanks for your timing.

I'm excited for Bayonetta 3, because Bayonetta taught me how to embrace all aspects of myself. I used to be shy and insecure but playing Bayonetta helped me to become confident. Some people may believe that fictional characters don't have that much of an impact on actual people but they're wrong, having a character as empowering as Bayonetta is so important for us who need a role model to reassure and strengthen us. So yeah, I'm very excited for BAYOnetta3!
Also, I would love to see you do a DMC walkthrough, I would very much enjoy it :)

A little tidbit of lore for #deebeegeek
Between the 2 games, it seems that the Inferno/Hell from Devil May Cry and Bayonetta are the same. Hence why the spider boss made you feel nostalgic and it was reminiscent of DMC1.
As some in game items explain, Sparda is related/have some sort of connection to the Madamas which are the main demons that form a pact with the Umbran Witches. In fact, Sparda is known as the "Legendary Black Knight" and in old times, it was the only male demon to ever made a pact with an Umbran Witch called Eva who created the Bracelets of time making her quite the legend in Umbran legacy.
Madama Butterfly is the Madama who is contracted to Bayonetta.
"Diplomacy has failed" line before the fight with Balder is a reference to another absolutely amazing game by Platinum. Wonderful 101 is basically another Bayonetta gameplay-wise but you control a team of tiny people (they are actually normal-sized but all the enemies are HUGE). You totally should play it sometime. If you, for example, finish Bayo 3 and crave even more insane stylish action right after that.
Wonderful 101 is nothing like Bayonetta in terms of game play! It plays more like Adrenaline Pikmin
@@jerfuhrer2581 It looked like Pikmin to me too untill I actually played it.Your guys stick to enemies when you do a basic attack and you can lift and carry around large objects. That's where similarities to Pikmin end. When any morph is active you are playing a "slasher" or "character action" or whatever else people call this kind of game (Bayonetta, DMC etc.). It even has Witch Time under a different name.

The bayonetta games have such a wacky way about presenting its story and gameplay it’s really fun to play and watch
I just want to point out how much I enjoy your reactions to the gameplay/bosses and Bayonetta in general, like you, i have fallen in love with the character, the storyline and all the shenanigans in which Bayonetta always ends up involve, im so excited for the new game just because I can't wait to see what else they come up with this time, how they are going to surprise us all and just in general, because I really enjoy playing Bayonetta, she's definitely one of my favorite characters, she's a strong sassy witch that completely mesmerize with the way in which she just fights......there's so much else I can keep typing here but, i believe you all get my point that Bayonetta is just simply, out of this world

Bayonetta is such a queen. From the moment I played the first one, I have been impatiently waiting for continuations to the trilogy. I have such high expectations for the 3rd installment given that the 2nd managed to exceed the first. 10/10 will replay Bayonetta many times over for a long time. CANT WAIT TO SEE HER IN THE 3RD INSTALLMENT
