God, I love the 1989-1992 theme (absolute BEST of all the versions IMHO) and I could listen to it all day. Makes me want to break out my sax and play 1:54 to the end as loud as I possibly can.
I remember a lot of things about this theme, besides Charlie O. saying at the end of the show, "Some contestants will receive...etc." And if I recall correctly, this arrangement was used sometimes at the end of the show between 1992 and 1994, even though the show had been using the 1992 arrangement most of the time.
The daytime version with Bob Goen first used this when it premiered. They still had the classic "Look at this studio filled with lots of prizes…" intro, too. I wish they kept both with the nighttime version as well.
Pat's departure from the daytime version prevented Wheel from being the longest running daytime game show on NBC. The record still belongs to Concentration (1958-1973), which lasted a month longer than NBC daytime Wheel.
I wish "Wheel of Fortune" had just reinstated this theme full time in the 1994-95 season and used it until 1997 instead of introducing that big-band version of the theme.

I think it's a nice combination of saxaphones and guitars with... I wanna say the Roland D-50 and Alesis HR-16.
Actually, The Drum Machine for this theme is maybe Akai S900 or Akai MPC60

@@jimscott2050 I don't know but that drum sound is actually from Akai not Alesis. (But some of 1989 cue used the Alesis HR-16 for drum programming.)
