I had found my new interest in reading since couple of months ago. 10K, 10Q, PDF presentation and Transcripts. Unbelievable value on what you can derived after reading them then just purely looking at the financial statements. You get to sleep, sleep really well after you have read them when you are invested.

@@caiocesar7919 it isnt terribly hard to understand the 10K. You do need to understand accounting though and be able to interpret financial statements.

I have read this book twice, along with the Intelligent Investor. You guys dissected the fifteen points very well and it was great to hear some examples for each point that are more relevant to the present. The book has a lot of examples from the last century. It will be great if you guys elaborate more on the scuttlebut method and provide a few examples on how to do it with all the tools available now. Great job!

This is a great book. Also have to say this channel is great, been wathcing alot of finance youtube the last 3 + years, this one is probably the best. I have learned one thing most importantly: My assumptions have been too high in regards to multiples. In order to get 15% return I need to be abit more picky. Thanks for hammering in this in, the AMZN example is important :)
Nice video, guys. Even if this one doesn't get as many views, going into more detail is important. Very valuable for those who are willing to take the time to watch and learn.
In regards to the 10-k's, like Paul said, I've found some reports give very general statements that just say the obvious while others give a more in depth analysis with actual numbers. For those companies that don't go into depth in their 10-k's, is there any other source of information we could use, I've found Earnings calls will sometimes give some good insight. That said... depending what Tesla develops... if growth stagnates and they do not innovate... yes.... PE of 15 migjt be it... but say they come up with robotaxi and they still are a growth beast? Then they could have a PE of 70..... what is Amazon's PE? 70...why? Because they are growing and innovating...

I find that the 8 pillar for bhp last week is good. 5% raised since I saw it. If economy will revive after the pandemic end of the year, will LnG start to flourish again? Moreover if inflation comes, will Oil be a good choice to keep? Or am I just talking nonsense? Use the due diligence guide from here, probably could tell.

Instead of replacing "Profit Margins" as one of the 8 pilars would you consider instead putting between parenthesis next to it the average of the sector so anyone looking at it can have a reference? Also, the check mark criteria may be replaced by answering the question: Is the company Profit Margin higher than the sector average? What about that?. Hope this ideas help.

HOW do I go about finding the answers to these questions? Maybe it's because i'm a novice, but is all this information really contained within a 10K? I want to streamline my approach so i'm not spending hours of my time trying to answer these questions.

That's already counted within the free cash flow growth since dividends come out of free cash flow.

Joseph Carlson is great but he’s a bit inconcistent. His dividend portfolio is great but his Story Fund growth portfolio is way too speculative.
@@robertc6293 I more so follow his passive income investing style. I don't invest in the exact same stocks as he does but I like his approach and his strategy. It's a simple strategy basically find a moat and don't jump off the roller coaster.
