Firearms instructor here. "What the heck is she doing?" That blue machine is a brass tumbler. It cleans off brass for reloading it. Burt & Heather are what is called handloaders. They save their brass and load bullets and powder into them. It's a very common practice in rural America, especially among hunters with calibers where it would otherwise be substantially more expensive to buy en masse as opposed to common calibers like 5.56 or 9mm. Also, because they are preppers, Burt & Heather assumed in a societal collapse they would have to make their own ammo anyway because they couldn't buy more from a store.

Val and Earl are one of the best movie duos ever! Glad you finally showed this to Chandra, Jordan. This movie could so easily be too campy and unwatchable, but it’s the perfect blend of everything you want in a movie.
I love Tremors so much! One of those rare perfect little movies. Jordan, talking about seeing it blind - my brother worked at a movie theatre, I went to meet him, had a couple of hours before he finished up, went in and watched Tremors - knowing absolutely NOTHING about it beforehand. I figured it might be some dumb movie about earthquakes. Turned into one of those experiences where you feel like you're truly along for the ride on this crazy adventure!
Tremors feels like a college film class project, but that's part of its charm. Both Kevin Bacon and Reba McEntire have some of the best comebacks in this whole movie. Side note: The little girl with the pogo stick was played by Ariana Richards, who's best known as Lex Murphy from Jurassic Park.
For going after Burt's truck- it was surveying the foundation of his house, going around it. The vibrations then set the alarm off, which off course attracted it to attack. It didn't know to go specifically after the truck by itself. Great reaction!
12:32....... You're absolutely correct, Chandra, Jordan! That's Reba McIntyre, one of the best female country singers of all time! She's a pretty good actor, too! Her and Michael Gross (Bert) steal the show in this film! 👏👏👏👏
Watching this made me think of a movie that I think you'd love that would be perfect for Halloween, even though it's not a creature feature... Tucker and Dale versus Evil.
The chemistry between Val and Earl is so great; I so wish Kevin Bacon had come back for a sequel. Talking of good stunts, look at how Burt's stunt double lands when he falls out of the tractor's bucket. I haven't found any mention of filming injuries, but it sure looks like he broke both his ankles. I think the constant mentions of the graboids' odor was for a planned angle that - for whatever reason - the filmmakers decided to abandon; like the characters being able to detect their presence from the smell. If you're looking for monster movies, I suggest 'The Prophecy' (1979), not to be confused with the Satanist movie of the same name.
32:26 the screenplay is perfect. They wordlessly establish the Cat and their ability to drive it early in the film when Earl uses it during trash duty.
Oooh so excited to watch the FULL reaction on Patreon where I get to see all your full length reactions to TV and Movies for less than a cup of Starbucks a month!
Not many people realize, but Val got the idea to finish off the last ‘Graboid’ by leading him off the cliff from when he woke up Earl sleeping in his sleeping bag on the truck bed via the fake stampede… Ultimately, the way Earl flopped like a giant worm off the back of the truck is how Val figured out how to save the day… “ It just hit me; stampede. 🤷♂️ “ Hilariously brilliant, and really hard to catch, but just another layer of a brilliantly executed film.
Hey, Tremors is a franchise. You have to watch the next 2 movies. My preference are the movies where the whole town is involved. The last movies only had Burt.
One of my personal favorites. I was 19 when this came out and saw it twice at the theaters. Kevin Bacon and the late Fred Ward(Rest In Peace) were great as Val and Earl. I could not help but laugh at how they talked to one another. The little girl, Mindy, was played by Arianna Richards, who would go on to play Lex in Jurassic Park three years after Tremors. One thing I loved about this movie was how much it reminded me of the Big Bug movies from the 1950's. The best of the bunch was 1954's THEM!, about giant ants. There was another one that was okay called Tarantula; it was the very first movie Clint Eastwood was ever in. He played an Air Force fighter pilot at the end of the movie.
Great and fun reaction, Maplenuts! This film is still one of my favorite monster movies! It's definitely up there with the classic, "THEM!", from the 1950s monster genre. And a thriller movie Chandra would enjoy, 1978s "MAGIC", not about puppets but a ventriloquist dummy! Always enjoy your reactions and look forward to your next flick. 🎥🍿👍
I don't think I had ever seen this. It was too fun, thanks! I was excited to see the old dude from Big Trouble in Little China. Monster Squad would be a good one if you're looking for monster movies.
For monster movies: Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane (personally it is cooler to see this one before Cloverfield), Godzilla Minus One. Plus you can always go for the classics: Wolf Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon...
The Cloverfield Paradox is a great movie as well. I remember liking it. It is just as different to the first two as the sequel is to the original. The shifts between all three are absolutely unpredictable and yet all three take place in the same world and are parts of the same bigger story.
@andrewbradford8686 I love Jaws. One of my all-time favorite movies. For some reason, I just don't think of it as a Creature Feature or Monster Movie. I should though. Weird.
I was so obsessed with this movie as a kid. I watched it every time it came on the Sci-fi channel. Finally just recorded it on VHS. 😂 The sequels are a lot of fun too. At least the first few anyway.
25:33...to answer your question....thats a brass tumbler sand system....so she has put all of her spent ammunition into the sand and the tumbler shakes and rotates to clean the brass casings inside and out so the casings can be reused if they make their own ammo.
I love that you guys loved this movie. I don't really have anything else to add except that it was one of my favorites when I was younger and I quote it quite often. Not sure why it wasn't a bigger deal than it ended up being. It's a classic!
You're right. That's country superstar Reba McEntire as Heather. Her husband is played by Michael Gross, who was the father on "Family Ties". The little girl on the pogo stick, Mindy, is played by Ariana Richards, who was the granddaughter from "Jurassic Park". I love that people like top go into a film blind, but even when I watch a movie for the first time, I like to check the cast to see who to look out for.
It's too easy to spoil a movie that way though. Images pop up that can easily ruin certain aspects of a film, even when you're just trying to search for the cast or plot of a film.
@@butkusfan23 I go straight to IMDb, take off my glasses and squint my eyes until I sort of see the cast list section, click on that, then scroll through the first 10-15 names. Not always perfect, but if I accidentally see a photo, there's usually so little detail that it doesn't spoil anything. But of course, that's just me. I'm a huge film buff and usually see a lot of movie related photos anyways, so I rely more and more on my gradually failing 61 year old memory and short attention span to (hopefully) help me forget what I saw. lol
29:30 the reason they eat the truck is because the car alarm goes off. The graboid was circling the house trying to find them (like the others) and went under the truck, setting off the car alarm.
Definitely hope you react to the sequels at least thru #4 Any Tremors reaction is an automatic like👍 Bonus points: if you get them all and the TV series I'll subscribe lol
the Host, a monster movie from S Korea ... I saw a 1 line synopsis in the newspaper on the way to work one day, that made this an instant I need to to watch. "the royal Tenenbaums meets Godzilla" ... its not far off that description

Clive barkers Nightbreed is one of the most underrated monster movies, 1985's Legend is fantastic monster fantasy movie, Monster Squad is great fun, Waxwork is cheesy greatness
I love backpacking in the Sierra Nevadas, and while I prefer the western side (wetter, more lush), I also have gone up the eastern side (up highway 395) a whole bunch. The great bulk of the movie was filmed around the town of Lone Pine. Those rounded rocks are part of the Alabama Hills, just west of town. The panoramic shot of Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward riding on the horses, right before the horses get attacked, you can see a road behind them zigzagging (switchbacking) up the mountain side. That road is Horseshoe Meadow Road, and I did a 38-45 mile backpacking trip in 2000 that started at the end of that road, went up to the top of Mt. Whitney, and came down to Whitney Portal. Real pretty area.
Great reaction to a great film. For a couple more Fred Ward - he's always awesome - no monsters, but a lot of fun - Remo Williams - The Adventure Begins, and Miami Blues. For a good take on monster movies - Dog Soldiers - hardly ever reacted to, but an excellent film.
Tremors is one of only a handful of movies where, upon every re-viewing and irrespective of my intentions, I am caught up in the timing of the tale, and my mind never races ahead to what I know, intellectually, is coming.
Underground god-damn monsters! I love Tremors, it's one of my absolute favourite films. The monsters are dangerous but not unstoppable, with both the people and the Graboids learning about each other in a battle of wits. And the people being pretty smart about it rather than the plot being driven by them being idiots. You know that when the audience are telling the characters to do what they are doing instead of to _not_ do what they're doing. Also interesting as a rare horror film set almost entirely in bright sunlight. The sequels are great too, definitely worth watching too, and even the TV series is fun, even if it's a bit wackier than the films. The second film opens with Earl hired to hunt Graboids at an oilfield in Mexico, but things don't go according to plan...
Some good spooky movie candidates... "NEAR DARK" (1987) "PUMPKINHEAD" (1988) "IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS" (1994) "PRINCE OF DARKNESS" (1987) "DRACULA UNTOLD" (2014)
@@ephraimthemugwump 👍When that film first released, I was managing a movie theater in Georgia. When new films came in, we had to splice all the reels together into a large, single reel. Part of the job was to play the new films after closing, the night before their first showing, to make sure that all the splices were done correctly. Several of my employees wanted to stay after work to watch ITMOM with me. When it was over, I remember walking out of the auditorium with my hands clenched in front of me, like I was holding an imaginary axe handle. I didn't feel violent, or anything, just that it would be somehow comforting if I had been holding an axe. I turned around to laugh about it with one of my doormen, only to see him standing there holding onto his own imaginary axe. It could have been an imaginary baseball bat, of course... it was his imagination. 😱

12:32....... You're absolutely correct, Chandra, Jordan! That's Reba McIntyre, one of the best female country singers of all time! She's a pretty good actor, too! Her and Michael Gross (Bert) steal the show in this film! 👏👏👏👏
A childhood staple for so many. Great reaction guys. Please react to the sequels, at least the first one anyways, it's quite good.
Here are two classic 80s monster movies: Monster Squad, and The Gate.. both from 1987.
Holy crap, The Gate, thats stephen dorff. Legendary film :D
Omg The Gate. Saw that on HBO back in the day and it just blew me away.
I love The Monster Squad!!! 👏👏👏👏👍
And Critters!
I'm just happy that you react to all these banger movies for months with no combo breakers in-between! So much quality content! You two are great!
Should definitely watch The Monster Squad … you both will have a blast !!!
Watching this made me think of a movie that I think you'd love that would be perfect for Halloween, even though it's not a creature feature... Tucker and Dale versus Evil.
Michael Grossman plays Burt. He played the father in the Michael J Fox sitcom Family Ties. Yes, the woman that plays Burt’s wife is Reba.
he finished his last day on Family Ties,
& the next morning starting working on this
Just Gross, not Grossman; but, yep, the dad from Family Ties.
Puppets? Little shop of horrors is a must then😅
The chemistry between Val and Earl is so great; I so wish Kevin Bacon had come back for a sequel.
Tremors has a certain magic, you can watch it over and again and it does not get old.
My bosses license plate says Graboid. We both love the movie. When we're together and someone asks about the plate he makes me explain it.
You have to do rock paper scissors every time you have to decide on something. You must.
They got a Tremors licence plate that DIDN'T say UZI 4U !?
I had a massive crush on the scientist girl
Hello, she had me with the zinc-oxide.
@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Zinc Oxide? I missed that!
32:26 the screenplay is perfect. They wordlessly establish the Cat and their ability to drive it early in the film when Earl uses it during trash duty.
Check out the movies Deep Blue Sea(1999) and Tremors 2: Aftershocks(1996).
Monster Squad!!!!
25:39 Reba was cleaning spent bullet casings, in advance of reloading them with cordite and a lead round.
Oooh so excited to watch the FULL reaction on Patreon where I get to see all your full length reactions to TV and Movies for less than a cup of Starbucks a month!
Dude...your Tshirt...ZOMFG...the legend LIVES! Still waiting for part 3 after a decade.
Not many people realize, but Val got the idea to finish off the last ‘Graboid’ by leading him off the cliff from when he woke up Earl sleeping in his sleeping bag on the truck bed via the fake stampede…
Ultimately, the way Earl flopped like a giant worm off the back of the truck is how Val figured out how to save the day… “ It just hit me; stampede. 🤷♂️ “
Hilariously brilliant, and really hard to catch, but just another layer of a brilliantly executed film.
There's a making of on TH-cam called "making perfection". I definitely recommend a watch, it's so cool to hear the stories and the behind the scenes.
Puppet Master horror film! See if they are cute!
Tunneler is adorable even when de-braining someone.
No one and I mean no one is out there reacting to the likes of Full Moon, Troma, and Empire. Perfect reaction fodder!
@@Melancthon7332 Who wouldn't like to see a 5 episode Trancers reaction?
@@ApesAmongUs Jack Deth Cinematic Universe is waiting for each and every one of us
Hey, Tremors is a franchise. You have to watch the next 2 movies. My preference are the movies where the whole town is involved. The last movies only had Burt.
They should watch all tremors movies
"That horse better not be eaten, or I am out of here!"
-Famous reactors last words!....or not.
😂😅😊😂😅
Great reaction.
Greetings from Sweden
💛💙💛💙
Pumpkinhead, see if she finds that puppet cute. Another fun reaction, Tremors is a special movie.
Pumpkinhead scared the crap out of me as a little kid. I think it holds up really well for what it is.
Not sure I'd classify Pumpkinhead as a puppet movie, but it certainly is a good creature horror movie.
Fred Ward RIP you incredible amazing man
Great companion to The Mist. We learn from both that if you fight amongst yourselves you lose but if you band together and get along you win.
The best creepy puppet movie is The Dark Crystal. The movie released in 1982, and it is Jim Henson's masterpiece.
Little did Egg Shen know, the creature he claimed wouldn't come out again had much bigger friends...
One of the best movies ever! It’s always a fun time and easy to watch over and over again. 😂
I agree. You MUST see Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and Godzilla Minus One. Three INCREDIBLE films!
The Cloverfield Paradox is a great movie as well. I remember liking it. It is just as different to the first two as the sequel is to the original. The shifts between all three are absolutely unpredictable and yet all three take place in the same world and are parts of the same bigger story.
@@geoffreyhawley503 Can't forget the 1975 classic Jaws
@andrewbradford8686 I love Jaws. One of my all-time favorite movies. For some reason, I just don't think of it as a Creature Feature or Monster Movie. I should though. Weird.
Two more monster movies I just remembered, An American Werewolf in London (1981), and The Fly (1986)
One of my favorite movies of all time…great setup, action, jump scares, and the characters are awesome…val and earl are quintessential buddy cops
I love the whole collection of Tremors movies.
Nutty Mapes! Great film. Saw this in the theater when it was released. A surprisingly great film. 😊🍁
Classic. One of the best creature features of all time... as good today as it was in 1990.
Dog Soldiers (2002) is a cracking horror with a good amount of comedy as well.
I'm a huge film buff and usually see a lot of movie related photos anyways, so I rely more and more on my gradually failing 61 year old memory and short attention span to (hopefully) help me forget what I saw. lol
Great Movie, Great Cast & Great Reactions Everyone We Will See you Both at The Next One,Katy & Otis
29:30 the reason they eat the truck is because the car alarm goes off. The graboid was circling the house trying to find them (like the others) and went under the truck, setting off the car alarm.
Definitely hope you react to the sequels at least thru #4
Any Tremors reaction is an automatic like👍
Bonus points: if you get them all and the TV series I'll subscribe lol
Some fun monster movies for this season are Fright Night (1985) , The Blob (1988), and The Gate (1987)
How about Puppet Master? A horror movie with puppets
And the sequels!
JAWS on the land.
The ultimate "Floor is lava".
the Host, a monster movie from S Korea ... I saw a 1 line synopsis in the newspaper on the way to work one day, that made this an instant I need to to watch.
"the royal Tenenbaums meets Godzilla" ...
its not far off that description
"The Host" is a fantastic movie!
That elevator pitch sounds ridiculous but it's pretty dang accurate
Loved how Chandra was 3-5 seconds ahead of the movie.😂
25:40 That machine cleans the brass casings. You can reload your ammunition. They have molds for bullets then you can but gun powder and primers. It's actually really fun. U did it with my dad when I was a kid.
Clive barkers Nightbreed is one of the most underrated monster movies, 1985's Legend is fantastic monster fantasy movie, Monster Squad is great fun, Waxwork is cheesy greatness
"Broke into the wrong god-dam wreckroom didn't you you bastard"....😂😂😂😂😂😂
You 2 make a great couple. Really enjoy watching ur reviews.
great reaction! mimic (1997) is an underrated creature feature.
Oh, the 1980s remake of "The Blob" was stellar! Those visual effects just blew me away (well, except some of the green-screen stuff).
"NEAR DARK" (1987)
"PUMPKINHEAD" (1988)
"IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS" (1994)
"PRINCE OF DARKNESS" (1987)
"DRACULA UNTOLD" (2014)
Oh hell yeah In The Mouth of Madness is a favorite!
Can't forget the 1975 classic Jaws
@@andrewbradford8686 Great film. Did you happen to see the Maplenuts reaction to it, yet? If not, do check it out, you'll likely enjoy it like I did. It was about 6 months back. :)
Until recently, I didn't even know the movie's original title being "Tremors".
For decades I knew it only by its German title "Im Land der Raketenwürmer", which translates to "In the Land of the Rocket Worms". 😁
Perfect reaction, as always. This is one of the best B-movie-style monster films ever made. Thanks.
Reba Macintyre is a country music and TV star.
Michael Gross was the dad from the TV show "Family Ties".
Kevin Bacon is, well, Kevin Bacon.
Ariana Richards was in a few Jurassic Park films.
Victor Wong was better known as Egg Shen from "Big Trouble in Little China".
Finn Carter was also in "As the World Turns".
Didn't hear what happened to Finn after she got in trouble with the law in Vegas a few years back. She had about 14 felonies she was charged with.
This reaction and her predictions makes me think Chandra is a survival genius.
I’m so glad you guys liked this movie! It’s so fun and pretty unique in general. I think you two should DEFINITELY get into the sequels! The next two especially, the fourth one is decent for what it is, and after that it’s kind of up to the viewer more than anything. I don’t really like the newer sequels myself. They also had a television show for a time, if you ever wanted to look into that I’d say it’s pretty fun.
All in all, great review. It’s fun watching you two react to things. Here’s hoping for more.
If anyone would like this movie 1977s "The Car" it would be you two!! Its not a monster movie but, it's such a great thriller/horror movie. It unfortunately came out the same time as the original Star Wars so it basically had no chance😂A young James Brolin (Josh Brolin-Thanos) father. Plus the car that they built for it is just so fricken 😎 cool. Anyway thanks guys🍻
still miss Jordan's "ned flanders" moustache.
I know you guys like the cheesy 80's action movies. You should watch Fred Ward in Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins
This was a great movie. Shame there were no sequels.
You must watch the second and third movies. After that, the quality drops a lot, but they are ok. The second movie is my personal favorite.
Love this movie ... and I love your commentary.
Tremors 2 and 3 are really good too, and expand our understanding of these creatures as well.
