I worked ten years for Missouri D.O.C. as a C.O. I wish I could say that the support you gave Ron was common but it is not. What you did sets the example of how to stop the revolving door or corrections. My respect has grown exponentially.

However, after watching this video, I have learned that none of these traits are as big as your heart. Indeed special in many ways. You inspire and make a difference in this crazy world. God Bless.

What a very rare and special friendship you guys have. Thanks for sharing Mike and Ron. I have a lot of 'Acquaintances' but very few friends, cherish this as this is special.
It’s truly hard for genuine people to find real friendship, for most, friendship is nothing more than a selfish pursuit of social advancement. The thrill of that quickly fades as we become mature, and then cynicism creeps in. Be aware that you are blessed to have a wife, many people never find anyone.
@Pavel Manzhetov Only if that's the way YOU chose to look at it. There are some videos of Mike and his brothers background, pretty inspirational IMO, you might like to check them out.
The part with Ron is by far the best part of the video. Really heartwarming. Of course I'll happily watch the rest of the content too. Thank you for sharing!
I have never left a comment on TH-cam, but I just want to say thank you Mike Patey for you wonderful videos and your contributions to General Aviation. Your knowledge and enthusiasm are tremendous. So my Icon A5 has a BRS Chute, and I learned a heck of a lot more about it in this video than everything Icon has described and published. Thank you for the outstanding informational description!!
Hi Brett, what are you opinions on the A5 so far? I have done intro flights but just haven't been able to pull the trigger quite yet. For some reason, im not a fan of Rotax engines as i just feel like im driving a snowmobile in the sky. But despite all of that, I still think I will make it happen. Would be curious to hear your thoughts, however.
@@DavidDavid-jb1cy LOVE, LOVE my A5. Pull the trigger, you won't regret it. The Rotax is a great engine, has a terrific track record, especially the 912 IS. No leaning, no carb heat, always always starts within 1 - 2 seconds of turning the key. Keep enough fuel in the tanks, it won't disappoint you.
Mike, thank you for not judging your friend, and being there for him. I promise you, you are the hero in his heart. He has never known anything like it. We all make mistakes. I'm sure he will not again error because of you. Thanks man.. I appreciate you.
The real Rocket is the "Ron" story. What a connection to a human being. That is what humanity is all about. A Big Sacred Bow to both of you. To hell with the rest of this episode.

Mike made a great investment into his friend's life, who became his best friend through thick and thin.
@@PerrynBecky Maybe it was Ron that made the investment in Mike.....
That was awesome!!!! Your backstory on Ron was truly inspiring. Thanks for getting him in front of the camera..
OMG, "this is the very best bad idea, we have so far, sir" Just watched "ARGO" this weekend. Best inserted clip EVAR, Mike!!!!!
I have watched this a couple times. Ron, maybe your greatest build. I'm sure both of you grew because of this relationship.
@@brettwest549 thanks for that reply. Much appreciated!
Awesome teamwork fellas
Like, then View!
It’s Mightnight here in Germany,

Great story about Ron
👍 Mike : you’re a really nice guy 👍
( as well as being a hell of a builder !!! )
So much design, thoughtfulness, expert engineering, care and preparation. Amazing to watch everything. Huge fan.
I'm learning a lot about building airplanes, but I'm learning more about Mike Patey.
Holy moly, Mike you are a ROCK! Helping your friend, when most would walk away! Hats off!
Heck ya ive been waiting for days!!!!
Mike, thank you for not judging your friend, and being there for him. I promise you, you are the hero in his heart. He has never known anything like it. We all make mistakes. I'm sure he will not again error because of you. Thanks man.. I appreciate you.
Everybody saying "i need a ron", hell i need a mike. Lol!
The real Rocket is the "Ron" story. What a connection to a human being. That is what humanity is all about. A Big Sacred Bow to both of you. To hell with the rest of this episode.
The problem with most of us males is we don't get into these valuable friendships. When I say valuable, I mean priceless!
O.K., it's official- MIKE PATEY is my new hero. Unbelievable kindness, gratitude, and work ethic. The world needs more like you, good sir.
that friendship, reminded me of military duties. We fixed airplanes. Through smoke, explosions, fire and blind.. we'd still get something done, knowing each one of us was there somehow...with split seconds not to think about it, just do.
Great story and true friend.
Again! I put everything on hold for a Patey vid
Then I'll be "Back to work"
Same bahaha
LOL ... sp true ... Mikes always at work ...busy distracting us innocent people. I'm like wondering when am I going back to work!!?? (Good one @TMB247)
