    Now you've gotta ask yourself, who was the first owner of that car? The one who ordered it and picked out its specific options from a dealer all those many years ago. The same owner who touched its shiny new paint, sat in the driving seat and took in that brand new car smell, long and deep. The owner who proudly showed it off to his friends and family.
    Then you skip forward many years to the owner who was the last one to hear it run. The same one who had had his guts full of its problems, who had been let down and stranded too many times and who had on many occasions pounded that steering wheel, slammed the door, cursed the car out loud and smashed that pedal to the floor and held it there screaming, to punish it after it repeatedly wouldn't start or lacked performance.
    Then just dumped it outside once his patience was completely used up.
    Those missing years between the first and last owners have forever been lost to time.

      I love it, but it was a one owner car. He passed and then the grand kids busted windows out and dented it all up.

    Mix up acetone and Marvel Mystery oil. Let it sit for a couple of days and then hit the top of the frozen piston with a 2x4 and a heavy hammer. I free up a lot of old engines, and this works the best. The video I have of the black 1950 Chevy shows what this mix can do.

    • @somewhatfast
      @somewhatfast  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tried that technique on tiktok, this motor was really froze up. I pulled the engine and used a sledgehammer and a torch the piston completely broke apart and the rings stayed welded to the cylinder walls. This isn't my first locked up flat head on this channel, but the first one that was a fail. On top of that the crank bearing were completely missing off a couple cylinders. My guess is motor was knocking and they dumped it in the woods. I've seen a couple of your videos love what you do, thanks for watching and commenting.

    • @whattherust
      @whattherust 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@somewhatfast Wow, I think you are right. I think that engine may have seized from overheating. You did all that could be done, and we all fail sometimes. It is a big gamble. Thanks for the good video, and keep the faith. Growing a channel takes time, but videos like this are entertaining and people will find them.

    As much fluid as there is on the dipstick the engine probably has a lot of water in it so the crank may be rusted fast

    • @kevinpettinger6644
      @kevinpettinger6644 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, you may have success by leveraging a pry-bar against the teeth of the flywheel and transmission casing. You can get alot of mechanical advantage and not worry about shearing off the crank-pulley bolt.

    • @somewhatfast
      @somewhatfast  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinpettinger6644 I will try that. I think I'm going to pull the pan and check the crank next. I think pan being bent may have a story behind it and the engine may have starved of oil. Makes sense why the starter was stuck engaged. They might have locked it up after hitting something then tried to start it. Because the oil pick up may have been knocked loose.
