i think i understand why vergilius isnt allowed to intervene by contract and what his role as the guide actually is the city is a very dangerous place allover, and running into the wrong person at the wrong time can end your journey then and there (as it almost did with ricardo) so the guide's job is to find a path that challenges our sinners but is still able to be overcome, that path also must include collecting golden boughs as that is the company's main objective (well, specifically to have the sinners collect them. idk why, theres gotto be smth about those 12-13 people that the company thinks is important) having vergilius intervene means that not only are the sinners not facing their trials properly, it can also means that the path was not well-chosen. it's in his best interest to never need to save us, but clearly he decided that the glass pods were offensive enough to him that he left the bus himself (personnaly i think LCB wouldve been fine with the hunt on their own, they'd just be stuck until erlking did his thing on the roof, they'd lose a bough and come back defeated but they'd live, even if very exhausted)
I dunno, it still seems quite arbitrary. It's as if the head made up these rules. Like as if these rules were made because a omniscient being told them to do it because it'll end up the best way if they do that. It seems very non-flexible, in this specific occasion I don't know how it'd end up hurting the sinners' development, but then again the company knows the reasons I guess. Also, I'm still firmly convinced that Dante is the mastermind behind this whole thing, I wouldn't be surprised if Dante even made this specific rule. Think about how ironic it'd be that Dante was seemingly forced into this position, yet before their memory was taken, this whole thing was precisely their plan, and part of the plan was that no one was allowed to tell Dante. Imagine one day Dante asks Faust why she can't say anything at the end of her canto and she's just like "Well actually you requested that". Now that'd be one hell of a shuckaroonies moment to be sure.
@@honzikca8757 i can see dante being some sort of mastermind behind limbus company, esp considering he was wearing his limbus company uniform before he joined the bus crew in the prologue (in the dark forest) wouldnt think the head is in support or directly evolved in limbus. they seem more like the type to watch things unfold and send arbiters/claws when things dont go the way they hoped it would, rather than get directly involed with orcestrating plans
@@Sopsy_Hallow I know this is nekro posting but I just have to add this to the theory. Damian called him a fallen nebula during the 7th canto, and I remember some mention of him replacing his own head. I really wouldn't be surprised if he was actually one of the higher ups in L-Corp and his memories are stored somewhere within it. Also wouldn't be surprised, if his clock head had nothing to do with his current powers other than being a focus.
When we heard this song we were reminded. Leviathan, a cartoon and a novel that showed Vergil's past. The moment that Pv song came on, scenes from that cartoon and phrases from the novel appeared in my mind. It was such a beautiful and intense moment. [ Leviathan ] Comics PV, so if you search on TH-cam, you'll see the now-deleted PV.
The fight where this song plays is basically a real-life/meta equivalent of that one trope wherein everybody mocks someone else (usually a main character) for being weak regardless of rumors of the latter being the opposite, and then that someone proves that, despite all odds, they *REALLY* are pretty strong/powerful. In other words, take _that,_ people who believe that Vergilius is a fraud!
People have been calling Vergilius fraud and other stuff but now people who have suddenly turned and are calling him stuff like king can be called frauds instead. Reading Leviathan months ago paid off in more ways than seeing his stuff
