I feel like some people on here might not understand how much you'd really do for a friend when they mean the world to you. I mean sure the lyrics might be strange if you're not a person who expresses love often, but really I get these lyrics. You can be close to a friend just as you would be with a romantic partner. I mean besides the romantic stuff, but eh hopefully I'm getting what I mean somewhat across. You might not say what these lyrics say to your close friend, but you still might do what they describe just because they mean that much.

My age was so unimportant to me that I'd forgot how old I was, and in that way I would never wake up saying "oh I feel 40/20/60 years old today" and I love by that. And live by that. They simple do not make soundtracks like these anymore. With such emotion and feeling, it truly makes the Mother soundtrack unique in its own perfect way. Songs about love and friendship are simply not in today's society of gaming music. They really put thought into their music and that is what makes Earthbound/Mother so special ♥

MosaicBrand It is a bit weird but it reminds me a bit of what Dalaam was inspired by, which that part of the track might have been an introduction to the series. It becomes more like a licensed song you'd hear from a band on American radio, which would make sense considering the game's setting. Not necessarily a bad thing, I think.
I can highly relate to this song. I have had friends that fit this song and I find that I also fit to this song as well. I enjoy helping others with their problems, but I often have trouble solving my own. Even when I had already given the answer to the same problem to someone else.
haha how funny, when I was younger I'd play the fourside stage in super smash bros, I'd always make up lyrics to go with the music that had to do with making friends, and I swear they were so freakin similar to the actual lyrics for it in this video, and I never heard it before!
Plus, considering the actual backstory behind MOTHER 2's Giygas (not any of the weird theories, the actual story about the wrong theatre), it seems more like a game that snuck right under the radar of an M rating.

Major Moe The little flaws and cheese just add to the album for me, not subtract from it. It's a little sappy, but pretty damn heartfelt and more than a little trippy, just like the series itself. I think it's why most Mother music was never done with real instruments disregarding hardware limitations, the synthetic, overly bright tones do what live music can't. That being said, the Smash remixes are a real treat, especially 4's rendition of the original Magicant.

***** The mother series is about friendship and being there for people you care about. I don't like how the whole "Giygas is a fetus, so creepy," sparked a belief that Mother games have to have a creepy undertone/deep philosophy to them. People look way too much into it.
The end creeped me out a little, but it was still a rather uplifting song. I love the Mother series for its strong themes and music. Catherine Warwick, wherever you are, I salute you and wish you well. Itoi, you are a genius. 5/5 + favorited
