I am homeless at the moment, with lots of problems in my life to sort out, so nights can be long and very uncomfortable, but I still get internet for a few bucks on my old iPad and listening to this takes me back to my childhood in Scotland, my bed was right beside the window, raised by my grandparents, I felt safe and snug and at peace listening to this, thank you for the serenity.

Although, you could already be on a path to getting there, unknowingly. Life is like a puzzle and sometimes its a case of 'time' before one piece can slot where it needs to for the rest to fall in to place.

@@roxannee8316 cool, unfortunately I’m very far away, the most remote city in the world, Perth Western Australia, no chance of a lift especially since COVID. How the world has changed in just one year, I have a lovely home now and though life’s little struggles knock on the door now and then, I’m happy and in a good space, still miss the lush green of the British countryside and especially the rain. I hope you are well.
I closed the window, pulled the curtain down, turned on the cold air conditioner, and opened this video. The rain made me remember my childhood days, when it rained all day, my sister and I were in our old house, studying or playing, waiting for my parents to return after a day of work; then we had dinner together, watched TV, and then went to sleep. There was no internet, no facebook, no smartphone ... just the sound of rain like that, with trees, with insects, slightly chilly weather and feeling of peace.

This is so comforting, I live in England and love the sound of rain, it's very common here. I can't sleep and this helps. Just one thing that I've noticed, it's slightly ironic that people are commenting on the 'days before the internet' and childhood memories. The internet, has enabled us to recreate these long forgotten experiences, such as this.

Same. Love the rain and always find it comforting, even when I was living in england and out walking in the rain. On the way to school, instead of walking the way everyone else walked, i would walk through the forest nearby, even when it was heavily raining to the point where i had mud on my school uniform but since moving to australia, where we get hardly any rain, i miss the weather terribly so i find it comforting watching these videos.
Alas, I'm an " in the blood Anglophile " but have yet to step foot in far away England....my ancestors left for the colonies so , so long ago.....late 1600's early 1700's but some customs (hot tea with milk and sugar during a rainy day) go slowly if ever, (buttered toast with chunky, tart marmalade) and so England is the Motherland for me , ever deep in my heart....this path through the trees is how I imagine it......thank you very much.
I developed tinnitus about a month ago and I was so thankful I found this I could cry. Rain sounds without thunder or other stuff in the background just pure rain that soothes my ears and almost masks it thank you so much.

SInce I was a child I loved rainy days! I used to sit outside , listening to the sound of the rain and enjoying the smell of the wet grass or the asphalto of the street. Thank you for this video......already sleepy and calm.

This reminds me of my childhood in Oahu Hawaii. We’d get periods of long rains and I’d either nestle down with a good book or go exploring the nearby forest with other neighborhood kids... those days were so simple and peaceful, compared to now, and this specific sound takes me back to those good times. Thank you for giving this tired soul a good nights rest and helping in recalling fond memories.

I suffer from tinnitus, and its been impossible for me to sleep the past few weeks. I'm telling my friend about this, and she says 'why don't you try some white noise?', so I decide to check here on youtube, and I find lots of videos, but the different one's i've tried either have very loud thunder that wakes me up in the middle of the night, or very loud raindrops that are more annoying than soothing. Suddenly, I find this video, calm and leveled sound, no jarring thunder-exactly perfect.

I suffer from PTSD and one of the ways I deal with it is by spending a day or just a couple of hours away from everything; Listening to the rustle of the wind in the leaves, the rain as it hits the foliage or just the birds chirping. Since I live in a town and have no access to a car I can't always manage to get away. Nature heals and makes us remember the bond that we have with it, if only we take the time to reconnect once in a while. I'm sad to hear about your condition (my own was brought on by a rough life), but remember that you are never alone.
I know such words have little meaning when we are at our lowest, and while I personally do not subscribe to any new age philosophy or things of a religious nature, I do believe that there is a tangible connection between all living things.
As such, you are always surrounded by friends; Be they feathered, four-legged, two-legged or have roots. We tend to forget these, our oldest (from an evolutionary perspective) allies who have helped our forbearers through all manner of hardships. They're still there if we take time off from our supposedly important lives and reconnect.
Anyway: Stay strong!

To me this is one of the best rainy day videos because it is mostly rain hitting trees rather than rain hitting pavement and open fields. It doesn’t sound the same and I can’t fall asleep to the others. Thanks for the video!

this has been my go-to white noise for four years now. it has got me through studying at university, sleepless nights and has helped me to focus in a noisy office. it always brings me calm!

i got to college in glastonbury, and have been up the glastonbury tor on a rainy day like this. the sound of rain is always nicer without the reality of wet socks!
I’ve bookmarked dozens of relaxation videos, but this is the only one that definitely shortens the duration of my migraines.
This one is soft and calming.
I adore the rain....results from living in the Pacific NW.

Wow, l Feel like I'm in Glastonbury, this is the kind of rain that my family grew up with. When it would rain my mama opened the door and, she would let the fresh smell from the heavens flow through the house, and sometimes we would sit outside, and we would just stare, and just take it all in as children, and as adults also, it was some of the most beautifu magical times .
when i hear this rain I think of all the humans who ever lived here hearing the same sound of rain on the leaves as we do now.

I've been up for 20 hrs and I have to be back up in 2 hrs, but I've been having SUCH insomnia restlessness lately. Somehow I had a feeling that flutes would help to soothe me, but this video was even better than I expected. The music and reason are perfectly gentle and balanced so there's no startling dynamic changes, and the background scenery is beautiful and relaxing as well, so soft and still and comforting. As soon as I turned this on I felt the bodily tension and frantic thoughts melt away into perfect peace. My eyes are already closing. Thank you so much for this good medicine 🙏💜

I had a cold last week and what absolutely kills me is the lack of sleep due to my nose and throat making random squeaking and Grudge type sounds randomly throughout the night and startling me awake every time I start to doze off. I used this video on a loop for three nights and the constant natural rain sounds helped to not make the nose and throat sounds so startling, and while I didn't exactly sleep at all it was much more restful and I got maybe a couple of hours overall, so I'd like to thank this video and person who uploaded. It really helped a lot!
Works wonders for my tinnitus! And a great reminder that the sounds of rain always beat the sounds of silence :)
