Sikhism is amazing when it comes to providing food for everyone in their Gurdwaras. They provide free meals to anyone and everyone regardless of religion, race, color in every Gurdwara and welcome everyone with open arms. The largest community kitchen in the world is run by them at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. I am a non religious person but I admire the incredibly gracious hospitality of Sikhism to everyone.
The golden temple is amazing. I too am non religious but experiencing the golden temple was next level. The Sikhs have this community service thing where people come clean their temples and server the Langan and stuff.
HarjasB31 Don’t thank me 😀. Despite my lack of religiousity, what Sikhism is doing in welcoming everyone into their Gurdwaras and feeding many needy people down on luck regardless of who they are is commendable and what religions should be all about. Other religions can learn from Sikhism in this regard and having visited the Golden Temple twice, I felt incredibly welcome and the tremendous Sikh hospitality and courtesy . If I were a religious person and a Sikh, Id be incredibly proud of that aspect of your religion. The fact that Simon & his companion went into a Gurdwara in Hongkong knowing that they will be fed and came out with praises is a testament to the Sikh hospitality. Don’t thank me for seeing the positive aspects of Sikhism and giving credit when it is due and well deserved.
So proud to be a Sikh. Just a heads up Simon, every Sikh temple, if ever you need will feed you 'langar' as long as you cover your head and remove your shoes no questions asked. Any race, religion, caste or creed.
I really enjoy watching your videos. Im disabled and don't get to go anywhere as i spend 95% of my life on my back . Your videos show me what the world is like. Thank you so much.
This comment really touched me. I help a lot of people like yourself in my job, I am grateful every day for what I do. I hope you are doing okay and I wish you a wonderful Christmas! X
@@Darlingnikki07 Thanks for the reply. Its great that your in a position to help People. It takes a very special person to do what you do. Not everyone can do that.Thank you x
You should get a Fitbit so that you can find out how many steps you take and how many hours of actual sleep you get on challenges. No chance of simon seeing this 😔
Simon your seriously one of a kind, u survived in India with no money that means u can survive anywhere with no money....!!! Respect to you bud...🤘🤘🤘 Looking forward to lot more of your crazy vlogs.....
I am an English language tutor and speak with students on every continent about you! So many people, from so many places, are inspired by your videos. 1 million subs are just round the corner dude :-D
I started watching your adventures a while ago and It goes to show you can have amazing experiences without money. I love your attitude and your positivity in life. If everyone was like you the world would be a better place.
In my opinion having another person with you on the challenges makes it so much better as your having to think of his feelings aswell as yours and energy levels
Hey Simon, it is amazing that you have visited the Sikh Temple, as part of your challenges, travelling the world, you will comes across a lot of Sikh Temples, that you are welcome to visit. Good luck for your upcoming challenges. Keep it up!
I loved the way Simon asked Mark/Will if he moved over to Hong Kong with his parents. Like a 5 year old Mark/Will would have just decided to move to Hong Kong on his own! 😂 😂 😂
That’s Sikh for you , Simon. They are known for charity during the time of sorrow and hard times. And their Langar is always free food . You must visit at Amritsar in India.
I've been binge watching so many of your videos... I've known about you for years from Bald & Harald but never watched anything of yours until recently, and my god - you are such a different person to the impression their bullish 'manly' banter suggests. You're such a cool dude! In their videos with zero prior knowledge, you come across as a typical 'brit' that doesn't eat anything else, is super closed minded, and the butt of their jokes. That's the impression I got. But having watched like 20+ of your videos - I can safely say you're sound as a pound, a really kind, empathetic and open minded person... I just can't believe the drastic difference of opinion I got. Sorry if it sounds a little harsh, but it's genuinely the impression I got from their videos versus watching yours. What an absolutely awesome bloke you are.
That temple looked amazing, and to think they fed you with no questions and regardless of who you were was something else. A Yacht, wow - looked awesome, what a stunning view, so love Hong Kong, I can remember snippets of it, but it's so good to see it again, I remember the trams etc, nice to relive the memories. Can't wait to see how the last day pans out, and of course, where you end up next! Enjoy.
Feel touched to see you go get the free food from the Sikh temple.. my hubby’s a Sikh.. the religion is wonderful... in a way, God is all the same, humanity and love is the message.. interesting channel you have.
Arsh Starfy Firdausy im pretty sure his 3 days trips are supposed to be with no subscriber help. I think it’s even better with subscriber help but just saying
i swear i hear youtubers say they have the greatest subscribers all the time but mate i think your one of the only ones i would agree with also cant wait for day 3 because this is so much better than any crap on tv.
The Indian Religions there is the concept of "Seva" which means service. One way of providing service is feeding people. It is unconditional of religion.
Great choice re: Hong Kong, pretty sure it was one of my suggestions lol. Sikh temples are brilliant places and they do indeed give free food. Amazing places.
Hey Simon, The weather in HK is always shaky. Thank goodness you were there in Feb instead of the summer or you would be caught in typhoon season + hot and humid weather; you wouldn't even have lasted one day sleeping in the streets! You also escaped the protests during the summer last year due to the extradition law! If you're ever planning to visit again, please let me know, I can show you around!
Im a Sikh and it was nice to see you guys visit the Gurdwara (Sikh temple). Langar is served to all regardless of race, gender and belief. #Equality #notohungerwithlangar
Hey! I would really love you to do these challenges in more asian coutrys like Thailand or Indonesia! Love your videos, you are a big inspiration for me! Right now I finish school after that I want to travel solo around south east Asia for one year and seeing your videos really makes my desire to travel even bigger! I also was in Hongkong with my dad before and I have many positive feelings about it, LITERALLY a lot of places you visited before I have been to and the way you film your experience just let me feel some good vibes from my own stay! Much love from Germany :)
My parents are going to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks so I showed them the first video and they have been watching all of your other stuff while they wait for this one!
Love it. How on earth do you get away with so much? I can't even go into town without my purse or I'd be lost 😂 can't wait for tomorrows video. I've said this loads before but I still think you and Toba should collab on one of these challenges together 😁
That’s what these videos prove though, although we think that we’d be lost without our wallet or purse, we could be just fine. It’s just a matter of necessity, you always think you’d be screwed unless you were forced into the situation. I think I’d be permanently rid of anxiety if I put myself into the position that Simon does!
That Holiday Inn in Causeway Bay has breakfast, its in different restaurant up couple floors! But you need the breakfast vouchers which is only given to guests staying at the hotel
I don't know why every time I binge watch a Simon challenge ,I start talking like him after lol.IVE said spot on ,and I have to get sorted out like 20times 😂😂😂
Sikhs feed anybody who needs it. It’s amazing. Some of the videos I’ve seen in India are insane, they feed tens of thousands of people every day in a single place. It’s unreal. I’ve never in my life ever found anybody saying anything negative about Sikhs.
Fkn eh! Talk about kindness and luck eh bud. Next challenge and I'd love to see if it's even possible in my home city.. Vancouver Canada. Looking forward to seeing more of these.
Awesome vlog as always you have inspired me to travel to Hong Kong I'm currently planning my travelling around Asia and Hong Kong definitely has to be on the list
A lot of the ashrams provide free feasts too. Perhaps not every night but many of them do it a couple of times a week. Also some christian churches have a night where they feed the poor (not usually the Anglicans or Catholics - but the minor churches). Also you should ring up good sammies to find out who/where there's a soup kitche ;-)
