Excellent update Sean, loved it! If you ever have thoughts of moving back to london, you only have to watch this again and remind yourself why you went back home. The views along the valley, the quietness of it, the sounds of nightlife on the mountain. Sure beats walking Sydenham high st. 😃. Have a great week!!!

So enjoyed this ramble with you Sean. So many memories for you . Here in the Vancouver area we do not rambling in our coastal mountains unless we have an emergency back pack. Phone, Water, snacks, bear spray, extra clothing , flash light and plastic bags for emergency shelter. We have bears, coyotes, cougars in our mountains. And definitely not a night hike. Wish you had found your daffodils. But planting some King Alfred’s is a lovely idea. Your videos and books are an amazing treasure. Definitely need to pass on to a library or museum. That is a wonderful legacy Sean. 💕👍🏻

Sean.... The brilliance of the autumn colour is overwhelming here. Rede, yellows and the steady dark greens of the pines! No enhancement needed! In the maritimes there is the rich blues of sea and sky, here on the 🇨🇦 prairies, the gold of harvested fields and brilliant blues of the sky!

What a magical experience walking with you at dusk on the mountain. That waterfall was stunning and it will make a good reference for a watercolour painting I am attempting, of mountains and a waterfall into a pool..fabulous.Those owls though give such atmosphere to the darkening woods, what a treat to hear them.Hoping part two shows you all cosy at the cottage with a cup 'o tea and a scone 😊

Very nice video covering everything for everyone. I love your gardening the most and tune in for all your advice but the walk up the mountain after was nice as well. I hope you made it back home ok in that dark. I live in Canada and agree with the person from BC. We have to be very careful of wildlife at night in the forest. I find I agree with all the comments I read on here. You are a kind soul to all nature and I too have introduced my 7 year old granddaughter who is also an aspiring garden enthusiast and she couldn’t wait to tell everyone about Rusty. So no fear you have made your mark and will be remembered 😊❤

Hi Sean, I left Abercynon aged 4 and spent nearly 50 years in south London. I know Penge and Sydenham well. Moved back to Abercynon a few years ago and now retired. Found your channel and am trying to catch up on your videos. I really enjoy them, especially when you go out walking. I'm always looking for new places to visit/walk. Fortunately I drive! Treherbert not too far by car. Up the Rhondda from Ponty or over the Rhigos from Aberdare. Thanks for all your posts. Regards Paul

Sean, that walk through the bosky mountain forest to the fairy falls and natural swimming pools in the encroaching gloaming was a real treat. Try to continue walking up there as long as you are able, it will do your body and soul a power of good! I'm envious - here, although this little island is lovely to walk through, it's so hot that the best times to do it are just as dawn breaks (about 20 mins max) and at twilight (ditto)! The sun bounces out of bed in the morning and jumps back under the cover of the surrounding ocean just as quickly in the evening! Sunrise and sunset are glorious, but very brief! Don't dwell on the shortness of our time here - it's natural that for most of us, if we are not history changers, that we live on only as long as the memories of our cherished companions and or descendants. ☺🌴🇦🇮

Nice to see you walking again. I also felt like a chunk of the summer got lost, and though I regret somewhat I am trying to better enjoy the now late summer into fall and on. I live in northern New England and today was seeing bright colors of fall even though we just had another late heat wave. But the trees carry on as they long have done, even with weather anomalies, they know that winter is real and late bursts of hot weather soon get overtaken by real cold weather. Like you say the mountains here too go on despite things people do and despite tree diseases, the very same tree diseases in both UK and USA.

Yay! A late evening walk up the mountain! I loved it! Seeing the trees and the fairy falls gives me a peace in my soul! The owls were a special treat! I live in the mountains too (USA) and I have screech owls at night sometimes and they sound spooky! I wish our weather was cooling off like yours . Ours will go back and forth..warm, cool, hot..until October and it will cool a bit. The leeks and potatoes look good. Will you be planting the daffodils and flower seeds soon? Thanks again for the lovely walk!

You can eat Guelder Rose berries as long as they are cooked or frozen first, they are only poisonous when eaten raw. Although there usually isn't enough around to make any sort of Jam batch, so people go for other berries.

    Good evening Sean
You're so funny,"down quicker than a brides dress!" Ive not heard of that saying before 😂
Your walks are beautiful, especially as its turning very autumnal, I love kicking through leaves even though im in my fifties, don't know whether i would attempt a running jump into a pile of them though ! 😆
The tree with the moss looked as if it was making itself a woolly jumper 😊
We all think about our mortality at some stage in our life, mainly as we get older. You have definitely made a concrete niche in the future, your gardening and slow living videos will be educational material for everyone to resource, long after the old man knocks on your door and you welcome him in!

I always wanted to move to Wales, but never did. Now I’m almost 80 and had a stroke, so I’m pretty sure it won’t happen. Thanks because of you I can almost live there. I’ve been there twice and met my extended family. Love your videos.
I’m closest to Wales weather where I live now. Along time ago my whole family come here for my brother’s wedding and my granny said the seaside reminded her of her home in Wales. I’ve been here for 26 years now. I have the straight of Juan de Fuca to the North and the Olympic Mountains to the South It seldom gets above 80 degrees in the summer and only have snow once or twice a year. And because we’re so far Northwest the sun sets around 10 PM in the summer and it starts to get dark around 4 PM in the winters. I’m living my dreams in your videos.
