Way late to the chat. Love the dsign - been working on one on paper for a while with a deeper throat. I also want to test out a shrinking/stretching type tuck die on a sort of planishing hammer set up (so faster but less control) with maintaining the planishing capabilities on the same stand (less shop space, more functions).
Hi Joel! No worries, I will inform the community when the set of documents is ready. I am actually preparing two sets: one in metric and one in inch. Each will contain dxf-files for the cutting, a BOM with source information for each part and a small manual to guide you through the assembly process. A friend of mine is currently building one and I am getting his feedback to improve/correct the documents where necessary. I guess I will start selling licenses for the build sometime during this years summer. And: The machine is capable of much more than just shrinking/stretching. But that is something I will reveal when everything is finished and ready. I'll keep you posted! Carsten

bang up design Carsten. put me on the list for the .dxf as well. Have a set of mittler shrink stretch jaws I’d have to retrofit. But bravo on the air pneumatic setup.. would you sell through a website or through here..? cheers

I repeatedly tried to contact heliotech to get some information and tech. data but I never got any reply. When you take a look their website it seems that they are sold out on almost every item. It is a pity because their jaws seem to be similar to the Eckolds and way more affordable. If I knew sufficient alternatives to the Eckold jaws, I would be happy. To answer your question: I will not include the Heliotech jaws under the current circumstances.
wow!!! Darf ich zwei Fragen stellen - wirkt der Pneumatikzylinder doppelt sodass auch mit Druckluft ausgefahren werden kann (der Hebel geht im Video sehr schnell hoch daher die Frage) und hast du Erfahrungen wie es mit "billigen" Shrinking Einsätzen funktioniert?
Thanks for your comment! No I didn't make them by myself. I was very lucky to get used but pretty good ECKOLD jaws (FWA405 /FWA 407) for a very low price. New ones would have cost more than the entire material for the machine :-)
