I was watching a donation center and they brought up an item that many centers would like to be able to give. Something as simple as a brand new stuffed animal to give to the children would go a long way for them. I know it’s not a “survival need” but agree from many yrs at TRU and seeing how a sick child or any child eyes light up with a toy.❤❤❤❤
I have heard the combo of stuffes animal and a small blanket just for the lil ones. Something they can wrap around themselves and still walk. (My daughter was getting an MRI of her pituitary gland and they were struggling to get a line for a mild anesthesia. The nurses were so impressed with her patient and tolerance, they brought her a donated blanket from the pediatric unit...she loved it!)
aww yes this is true in many disaster situations, natural or just in life. i remember when i was placed in foster care and i got a donated care bag from the doctors office and it had a stuffed animal in it. yes i was 13 lol, but over ten years later i still remember it. sucks that it was stolen (yknow, foster care) but it was really comforting to me. i can’t imagine how children feel literally having no home to return to. i couldn’t go back to mine, but at least it was still standing 😢
As a North Carolinian who lives 2 hours away from the western part of the state, Thank your for everything you’re doing I helped load a truck up to take there I packed so much food and water (which they definitely need!) but not a lot of hygiene products or pet food. Again thank you for even taking a small part of your day to help NC out even one item changes lives

We sent many cases of supplies to Woodland Baptist Church a distribution center just west of Ashville. Amazon will deliver it there and volunteers are delivering it to those in need. Hang on to those in need. Help is coming! A family from No VA.❤❤❤
I’m from Raeford NC I was a volunteer firefighter for ten years before marrying and moving to AZ. I feel so helpless seeing home and not even knowing where to start to help. Thank you so much for what you are doing. We haven’t seen devastation like this in my lifetime. Matthew got us bad a couple of years back but not like this. People that I went to school with and places I was at just a few months ago are just gone. It is going to be years before home is back to normal and for so many it will never be normal again. So thank you for giving what you can to those affected. It’s hard to explain how humanizing it is to simply have deodorant or toothpaste when you have lost everything. Southerners across the coast are a strong proud people, we help each other through less and will pull together through this.
And it's following the same path as Ian from a couple years ago😞 My hometown in Florida got hit pretty hard and they're still trying to get houses fixed from then. And now dealing with crap from Helene too😣 Hoping and praying it won't be so bad this time!🤞🏼🙏🏼
