The themes of them feeding off of human fear and discomfort is ever present in this episode. From the Eternity Devil getting riled up at the same time Aira and Kobeni, Power finding humor in Kobeni breaking down, and laughing in the scene before Kobeni stabs Aki. It all ties together why Devils would fear someone “with a screw loose” crazy people can be unpredictable and don’t scare like your average joe. And we see this when you compare how Denji reacts to their situation compared to the rest of the group. Even Himeno to an extent, Power actually tells her that it bothers her by how unbothered Himeno is, when she’s smoking in the room.
