- Boy oh boy, if you're a fan of the Walrus Audio Slö or Slötva this is a GOOD DAY. The fine folks at Walrus HQ have been working on a stereo version of their stand-out ambient reverb and I think you're gonna like it.
I got to chat with the Walrus crew at NAMM 2023 and they teased the news that a stereo Slö might be in the works. Well, here it is! Fit with the three original algorithms, two new ones, more modulation waveforms, and a 3-way WIDTH control to adjust stereo spread. It's an ambient guitarist's dream and a lovely evolution of Slö.

@@AmbientEndeavors you’re welcome! 🙌🏻 yea I am stoked to see them listen to what a lot of people have asked for and deliver. As far as that Julianna though I have not! Had no idea they had produced a stereo version, will definitely have to check it out! I’ve been thinking about getting a chorus for a bit now but have always leaned towards the Fulltone Choralflange since thats what Hammock has used but they have gotten pricey since no longer being produced. I know a lot of Worship/Ambient guitarists that use the Julia though so def going to look into the Julianna.

As far as my tone journey goes I really began exploring when I was looking for videos on the Line 6 Verbzilla. TH-cam took me to Andy Othling’s early videos. Now many years later I am using Fender’s Marine Layer reverb up front after a Sub n Up. Later on I am using the Immerse. I’ve used this combo with a bunch of delays on all three albums. Singing Ghost Stories is album three and is out 1st September. It’s less ambient than previous two but has ambient, post rock, drone and noise elements across it.

@@AmbientEndeavors ahh thanks. Getting close now. Working hard at getting the mastering done, which is new to me as have paid someone before, but it is a fun challenge!!!
My prediction: in 18 months they will release a new version called Sloest..... it will add 2 more algo's, 3 more preset locations, add Midi, and have the footprint of a Big Sky!

You know, I used it on my board last weekend. It might find a place. It's already been used on a couple demos since shooting this one. It really excels in the big ambient/atmospheric sound so I might have to spend some time finding some more middle of the road sounds, or pair it with an "always on" verb if I blow my board up again ha. Long winded way of saying...check back in a couple months ha!
Well, dammit. I just bought one. 🤦♂️ I just couldn’t help myself. There’s no way I can not have a stereo version of one of my favorite Reverb’s ever. Should I have spent the money on this at this moment? No, not at all
