If you recall harvey surprised everybody it's set there as a tropical storm until the last minute and then went to a category four. He did emphasize that it is a serious storm and that people need to be prepared which is basically what i'm hearing from the weather channel people and all the other meteorologists.

@@ATXMatt there must be a way to build an aqueduct to carry water from the Gulf to over there in central TX-like they do from NorCal to SoCal. That would require substantial infrastructure investment, but could be a worthwhile solution. Still, I’d prefer calmer weather to tornados and hurricanes like we’ve had out here. There’s been millions of dollars of damages done to the Houston area alone by the last derecho storm. Some folks have yet to repair their torn fences, because they figure there will be more to come. Many refrigerator units have taken a beating as well. The compressors tend to go out after a power outage, and after everything inside has either melted or gone bad.
