What are the differences you see between india & Sri Lanka ?
I found both countries VERY different, more than I expected. Sri Lanka is tiny, comparing to India, it's much less populated, it's been having influences from all over the world for thousands of years; 70% of population follow Buddhism, the society operates differently. Yet, I don't think I could compare the countries objectively. Mostly, because I experience India as a local, and i've been exploring it for 15+ years. In Sri Lanka I was merely a tourist for 2 weeks, so my understanding is very superficial - it's coming from tourist observations and history books. But I should say that my Indian husband had a very warm welcome wherever he went!

Hi, can we visit Sri Lanka in May month? I'm bit confused about the climate. Please suggest
It doesn't rain on the entire Island at the same time. I'm sure you can go in May, just check carefully to which coast / part it's best to go, not to be caught in Monsoon. If you want to watch whales, it's also seasonal

May ,from my memory,is when Buddha 's birth,death and enlightenment is celebrated. There will lots of illuminations and also people stop the public and offer food and drink for free. There might be rain in the south west. The east ,for example ,Arugambe would be dry.
How about moving to Sri Lanka? If you like India, you are sure to like Sri Lanka.
