Alex thank you! I was just thinking about how I should search for this video on your channel and here you publish one! I love your work. Crazy you around like 1M plus subs...you'll get there. Just keep doing what you're doing. I used to think blue hour was awful, like, how could I get interesting photos then? I have learned much since then, and can't wait to get out and shoot.
1:35 - I'd assume you already know this, but it look like you used a noise reducer instead of just EQing out the super deep wind noises. Not sure if it's the highpass or the lowpass filter (whichever removes the lower frequencies) will do a way better job than the noise reducer (or use both). Love your channel. Much appreciation.
Hey Alex, good stuff man. I accidentally stumbled upon your video while searching for some videos for my Sony A7s. I was curious what the blue hour was so i clicked this video and i must say it made very well. Tips were pretty on point. Your pictures were good but there was something really captivating about the video. It had this very filmy or i must say cinematic look to it. I would love to learn what focal length/lengths did you shoot the video sections at, especially the parts where you were speaking ?
Awb slows my camera down. That on top of slower low light focusing isn’t a good mix. So I custom a Fluorescent balance for Blue Hour, and then shoot manual settings. Then all the camera has to do is focus.
loved the video, but not a big fan of the color grade on this one. that teal look of the sky made it all too surreal, it looked like you were in some other planet :D
Blue hour is my absolute favourite time to shoot. It just has such a distinctive look!
I feel so much peace and calm during the blue hour. It's the best time for filming and photography, next is the Golden hour.
This was totally helpful. thank you Alex.
Loved this one, dude. You truly own this element. You can feel the magic in this. 🤙
Feeling the music on this one Alex, blue hour is definitely one to experience and experiment on 👌🏻
Love the energy and vibe of this one Alex!
Love your out going/adventure type of videos!
Yes Alex! I'm experienced at shooting in blue hour, but do love to watch these videos anyway. Keep it up!

You are a great teacher Alex!
can we appreciate the beautiful colour grading
So good Alex, you are creating some amazing vids mate.
Hope you enjoyed this one. What other approaches / techniques do you want to hear about in future films?
Woow! Such great content. Thank you for these tips. I'm just starting out and this really helps. You are amazing!

Awesome tips and video Alex!
Please make more videos like this man you are great!

Belle Vidéo Alex!
Amazing landscape up there. How's it skiing back down in total darkness? 😅
Nice Moraine Lake profile pic! I went there last summer. Probably on of my favorite places ever.
Definitely one of my favorites. Going to backpack Banff this summer 🙌
La classe cette petite RED pour un tuto :) les images sont très belles en tous cas. Bien joué !
Great tutorial! What is this song in the video? It sounds so familiar 😲
Kinda sounds like lucid dreams
Shape of my Heart by Sting... But an EP lofi... I'm trying to find the song
A two way radio for a far away subject (person) would be a great idea.
Je me suis toujours demandé comment shooter pendant la blue hour maintenant je suis opérationnel haha. Awesome vid!
Love thissssss 😍😍
Super bummed I can't purchase the workshop anymore...

Awesome video Alex! I love it up there, such a beautiful spot. Do you always use auto white balance?
Levi Hoch yes like 90% of time. The other 10% is when I’m a place with mixed lighting indoors
loveeee
what camera and lens was used to shoot this video?
Thanks alex
Thank you so much for these videos, Alex! Would you mind sharing what music you used?
Good stuff Alex!
please write the name of the song in the beginning :D and btw nice video
the original music is shape of my heart by sting but I don't find this version
And yeah, first! Great instructions 😉
i love this! :3
what's the name of this song? anyone?
Alex! What's your favorite headlamp for blue hour shooting? :)
Logan Davidson been happy with the Black Diamonds
@@alexstrohl Any specific lumens? Appreciate the reply amigos
@@LoganDavidson you dont want too bright actually because it will overexpose
@@alexstrohl Makes sense. Stoked on more uploads! Keep em coming.
What white balance do you use if you can't shoot RAW like for video?
Ethan Bares I use colour temps accordingly to indoors / outdoors
Glacier Park/Flathead Workshop coming?🤞
You mean in person workshop?
Yeah any chance that will happen?
what’s the name of the song at the end bro, btw beaaautiful video!
Its a remix of "shape of my heart" by Sting
😎🙏🏻
3:45 man i was hoping for a number 8 bit is a bitch to correct. And not everybody has raw
Music?
How do you shoot video like this at blue hour :O !!
4000ISO!!! I max out on 800ISO on my 70D :(
I forgot that this is the reason I left my 7D. f1.8 wasn’t fast enough to mitigate the terrible noise.
70d is still a great camera though!
@@LexElls I love it! Just dont love how I pretty much have to put it away a few minutes into blue hour :(
loved the video, but not a big fan of the color grade on this one. that teal look of the sky made it all too surreal, it looked like you were in some other planet :D
Who came here from TXT Blue hour MV
You look like a versión with beard of Adam Sandler
He certainly doesn't🤦🏻♂️
I want to see the shots taken with 70-200! 😆
Jovan Teo they’re in the vid!
And on IG
@@alexstrohl Just saw them. Looks awesome!
