Call me biased but whenever I see an RM Band anywhere in the world, be they leading or part of a larger parade, they always steal the show for me. They achieve perfection and never settle for anything less. It really says something that, watching this video, every other band on parade were on par with them. I'm one proud Briton!
An RM Band is not a Guards Band that is for sure. A Guards Band like Infantry Battalion Bands have a more pronounced base drum and might I say more martial as they have to be when at the head of a Battalion. All capital ships in the Royal Navy had an RM Band and therefore they are more ochestral, no need of a pronouced base drum. The RM Corps of Drums are a left over from the days of the old RM Light Infantry Battalions, now long gone. As an ex Line of Foot Infantryman I much prefer the Guards Bands. NB Guards Bands are rated as musicians not bandsman.

If by "baggers", you mean bagpipes, sorry to say they cannot, as with all state military parades it has a set order of march. The Royal Navy will always lead, as its the Senior Service ..then the Army, then R.A.F bringing up the rear.
The logistics behind such a parade must be fantastic. Just think of the job of transporting and feeding so many for a start. They can't just queue up at Gregs! Well done to everyone involved.

To be fair, my camera doesn’t have much of a microphone on it, so much of the crowd noise was drowned out by the bands. From memory about the only ones who got a significant cheer were HMQ, the Ghurkhas and the Red Arrows.
They are indeed heroes; I have even made video-slide shows to show that. However, to be fair, as I understand it, this was specifically a march to an armed forces muster in Home Park - Private, so that the navy, army and air force could recognise and thank Her Majesty for her 60 years of service.
,They are second to none,their uniforms and the music. The royal marines are wonderful the same as the rest ,nobody can beat the british, in what they do in parades.
It starts and ends with shoulders back, head up, swinging arms to shoulder height and thumping heels firmly down on the ground. My old drill sergeant used to add: "Remember whose uniform you're wearing. Loads of pride and swagger." It's unfortunate that US marching troops appear to be 'strolling' more or less together.
It distressed me here in the U.S.A. we don't have the cohesiveness of Great Britains people.We have lots of ersatz patriots but not the real thing.Here patriotism is used to divide and as a weapon.My respect.Great Britain.

You waited a long time for your answer, but there were between 2500 and 3000 military personnel on parade that day (19-5-2012) in Windsor. It is quite impressive, though it depends on your point of view. The ENTIRE British Army could fit in the Olympic Stadium as numbers have been cut. Probably they will not be cut further, given the lessons from the war with Ukraine. Sadly, the whole Armed Forces, cited as "UK Military Personnel" means slightly under 200,000. That includes 37,000 Reservists, around 150,000 Regulars and 8000 or so "Others" (about which we maybe don't ask too many questions!) Of course, the quality is very high, buut many other countries have more (if not as good)...
I'm an ex squaddie, but whenever you see the Navy marching they are far smarter than even the Guards, then again they are the senior service so maybe it's fitting.
