तू भी दिल से उतर न जाए कहीं
आज देखा है तुझ को देर के ब'अद
आज का दिन गुज़र न जाए कहीं
न मिला कर उदास लोगों से
हुस्न तेरा बिखर न जाए कहीं

aaj dekhā hai tujh ko der ke ba.ad
aaj kā din guzar na jaa.e kahīñ
na milā kar udaas logoñ se
husn terā bikhar na jaa.e kahīñ
aarzū hai ki tū yahāñ aa.e
aur phir umr bhar na jaa.e kahīñ
aao kuchh der ro hī leñ 'nāsir'
phir ye dariyā utar na jaa.e kahīñ
Gayatree Gaikwad- Gulhane (GayatreeG) is one of the finest and recognized artist of “Patiyala Gharana” and “Kirana Gharana”. She regularly performs Khyaal, Ghazal, Dadra, Thumri, and Abhang. Belonging to musical family, She started receiving Hindustani Classical Vocal lessons at very tender age of 4 from her father Pt. Suryakant Ji Gaikwad (Sangeet Alankar) and her mother Smt. Sangeeta Gaikwad (Sangeet Visharad). Pt. Suryakant Ji Gaikwad is a disciple of Pt. Marutrao Dondekar who was shagird of Ustad Amir Khan Saheb, Ustab Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustab Rajab Ali.
Gayatree gave her first public performance at the age of 5 at Alandi, Pune. Her musical aptitude and her sweet voice brought appreciation from the listeners. She regularly performs Khyaal, Ghazal, Dadra, Thumri, and Abhang. She has composed several ghazals, thumris and abhang. She also received special appreciation and guidance from the Shri Ravi Date Ji and Padma Bhushan Dr. Prabha Atre Ji. She has also learnt HARMONIUM under Padmashree Pt. Tulsidas Ji Borkar. She is being mentored by renowned Hindustani Classical Singer Ramakant Gaikwad.

You have sung as if not to impress, but connect with the deepest possibilities of the meanings of the words. You have nailed the emotion. Not perfect. This is an immortal gazal..wah wah Noorjahan and Nasir Kazmi.I have been listening this gazal for decades..so very often. A real gem !!
How Noorjahan modulates and expresses the tone of the gazal by her facial expressions.
Now about your rendition.It is not only sufficient to like this gazal ..so so many try to sing this gazal thinking that they will do a good job of it..many of those attempts are good but nothing extra ordinary.I was hesitant in the beginning to listen to your attempt ..yours is a longer and slower version...but frankly I liked it verrry verrry much ..so lots of complements to you. ..and there is no unnecessary showmanshp too.Again lots of complements to you.
Gayatree ..mi ajparyant tuza avaj aikala navata --surekh!! You give respect to those immortal compositions. Aapan kay mhananar ahot yachi tula kalpana ahe --and you give respect to the original artists.Glad about that.
