Was it worth it?!? Absolutely. Out in God's land, enjoying his creations with friends. Hard to beat. So, yeah, I say it was worth it. Not to neglect that you did get birds so that just adds to it. Keep up the work
Love your “rivers” as I grew up hunting decades ago all around there. May I suggest going ahead letting your good looking, energetic yeller going with you. Unless because of filming responsibilities, etc., pups at that age are very capable of doing what you want them to do…and correctly. I’m near the end of hunting dog number 5 and every one had birds in their mouths at a very early age. I’ve watched your dog’s progression and wouldn’t hesitate one second to get it directly involved now. No substitute for experience. 👌
You nailed my hesitancy, solo filming, often solo hunting and teaching a new/young pup to be calm and steady is VERY difficult (been there done that). My plan is to take her when I can put both the camera and gun down and just focus on making it the best experience possible. Can she pick up ducks in river, swamp and pond, absolutely. Thank you for your encouragement!
Little bit of everything. These Wood Ducks are Game Winner Flex Tough. Poor mans Avian-X. They are light, good color and dont have that hallow loud sound.
@@Duckhunter1986 I have a 6 pack of Avian X mallards, they are light and durable. The only complaint after 8 years is they have faded. They are nice for a jerk rig bc they are light and not loud like a hard plastic duck. Not heavy like a foam filled
Glad to see the funds were well spent. Congrants on the great hunt.

@@shawn5141 rhetorical for sure, we had a blast! The only downside is how loud the motor is, and it disturbs the ambience of the river

Sweet little hunt.
What kind of decoys do you use?

I’m thinking about purchasing some Avian X mallards the outfitters pack.
