      I noticed that myself. :) I think it will be another year before I hit 1000. But you indeed were one of the first.
      It has turned winter here. I do have one little build on the bench. More a system for my truck to transport the bigger airplanes.
      Still having a bit of problems getting back up to speed after the death of my younger sister. I am getting there. About 2/3 done with the new project. I will post it soon.

    For some reason getting params goes on forever, but I can see roll, pitch and yaw position of drone on flight display of mission planner

    • @nighthawkvs
      @nighthawkvs  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is frequently cause by reversed TX and RX on the Mavlink pins. I know it is strange that it seems to work with them reversed. i made a whole video showing how it seems to work, but will not read in the parameters in 60 second or less until the pins are reversed. Then it reads them in in 60 seconds of less.

    Great Video First time seeing All the Crossfire wire's connected to the flight controller, Will this set-up work on INAV 6.1/Crossfire 6.19/MAVLINK 1.0/2.0 for MFD Mini Crossbow/Matex F765-WSE

      It should for INAV. I have connected to INAV via Mavlink as if it were connected via a usb cable. I am unsure about the MFD Mini Crossbow. I would think it would. But I do not have a MFD Mini Crossbow to test it with. Yet. 😊 That is on my want list.

      @@michaelchambers9838 Ah. Yes, there are six wires to be connected. :) And sometimes with the Mavlink if it is connected rx to rx and tx to tx it seems to work, but poorly. When you connect tx to rx and rx to tx it will work much better. Not sure why it seems to work partially when connect backwards but it does. That got me confused when I first started working with it. I kept trying to fix the connection through baud rate etc. Then when I resoldered it correctly it just worked well from the start. As well as it can. The original Nano RX doesn’t have much power so it has very limited range. The Nano RX pro has more power, but I don’t yet know what distance it will work at. I also don’t know about the Nano Diversity. Yet. 😊

    Using mavlink emulation I connected my laptop to crsf wifi in udp mode. Mission planner has basic data running (hud, gps lock) but qgroundcontrol doesnt. Any ideas?

    • @nighthawkvs
      @nighthawkvs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was about to post a video showing my laptop connection, but I haven't tested Qgroundcontrol yet. I will try to do that tonight.

    • @nighthawkvs
      @nighthawkvs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just fired up the laptop and loaded QGroundControl. I am not at all familiar with QGroundControl. The only things I can say is that under the current crossfire firmware 6.10 they no longer use UDP. They have switched to TCP. Under Bluetooth they now use Mavlink over usb that is built into windows. I suggest you should upgrade to current version and try again. Also when QGroundControl opens it just connects for me. I don’t have a connection option like in Mission Planner. I have next to zero experience with QGroundControl. I will now see how it connects via TCP if I can.

    • @nighthawkvs
      @nighthawkvs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also just looked at upgrading the Wifi and found this. There is a new update for the wifi firmware.
      v2.04
      - added back MAVLink via UDP (in addition to the new MAVLink via TCP option)
      - added MAVLink statistics into the CRSF menu (fully works only with MAVLink via TCP)
      - added "Pro" menu with options to temporarily disable some features
      - switched optimization level.
      I will have to upgrade my wifi and reproduce all my information.

      @@nighthawkvs I upgraded yesterday with the highest available versions. The only thing I did not upgrade was qgroundcontrol. Will try the newest version and both udp and tcp connections.

      @@nighthawkvs In my case on both UDP and TCP I can get my horizon moving and see plane position on map in Mission Planner but it wont read parameters from plane. Newest qgroundcontrol still doesn't connect automatically.

    if, i send control commands using mavlink from mission planner or python, will there be any effect on latencies or not? because the computer has to communicate with crossfire over wifi, and crossfire communicates with the drone

    • @nighthawkvs
      @nighthawkvs  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The latency would be more IMHO than the crossfire crsf because of the amount of data being sent. Much more than just control is being received, but I am not sure what is sent. It could be less data because why would you send all the sensor data back toward the platform. Then again, the packet lengths may be that same. I am not entirely sure. You may need to find a person much more involved in Mavlink than I am. I have never looked into Mavlink packets deeply, I just have used it as is for telemetry.

      Thank you. It is a start. I think it needs to be much more robust. I hope it will become so in the next few firmware updates. I really want to remove the separate telemetry radios from my platforms. I will post new information when I get it.

    Crossfire and Mavlink sucks and just doesn't work as promised by TBS, even with Wifi firmware 2.04. As soon as you are 50m in the air the Mavlink connection is broken, I don't think the TBS guys ever tested this for real, only from behind a desk. Very dissapointed, for me no more Crossfire I'm switching to Dragonlink now!!

    • @nighthawkvs
      @nighthawkvs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for verifying that. I suspected that it would not work at any range. I have not field tested it yet. But that was my suspicion as I stated in my videos on the subject. I will still be testing it myself, but I fully expect to find the same results as you. And that is why I switched to Dragon Link.
      If you have seen my past few videos, I got Dragon Link and started working it up on Monday of this week. I got the firmware updated. I got the control link working. Today I have been working on getting the Telemetry working. I have not posted a video of that yet. I will ASAP.

      Yes, that is the way it is designed. When the RX drops to 50hz or it is put into 50hz mode, the telemetry stops working because there is no longer any time for it to be passed.
