As a former sheetz employee, the Pattys are microwaved and then held in a steamer they also have a artificial smoke flavor. That is why it tastes weird.

I love to eat at sheetz. My only complaint is the tables are usually covered with scraps of food from the last customer. I politely ask the cashiers and they clean them. One day a guy used napkins to clean tables. It was awful unsanitary. With covid and who knows what else is out there I don't like to eat where someone dropped food out of their mouths onto the table. I will start carrying my own cleaner and I don't care who laughs. It's covid time ladies and gents. Lots of fast food places never wash tables until the end of the day. Gross😢
sheetz is technically a fast food primarily and didn't start installing fuel pumps until 1973 (the funniest possible year to do it, oil crisis and it made absolute bank) started as a bakery and convenience store, was strictly fast food for about two decades but now fuel pumps are a mandatory feature this is actually how sheetz wiggled around PA's old PLCB laws and was finally allowed to sell alcohol -- convenience stores couldn't but restaurants can, and since sheetz has technically always been a fast food, PA stores with a dining area may also sell beer. but the current laws get even sillier than that -- the only alcohol you may consume on premises is the 24/25oz singles (the tallboys) and only inside the dining area. drinking outdoors is forbidden. Pennsylvania is wild
I go to Sheetz often and I love their food (especially the chili dogs, those things hit hard), but they really had to shrink the large fries bucket? I remember those things were staples of any road trip, sitting in the back of the car, unable to sleep, sharing fries with your brother... now its tiny. Fries are still good but I can't help but remember the huge ass bucket that I used to stuff my face into. That or I'm remembering it wrong and they've always been this way, since I can't find ANY information on the old buckets. Maybe they're location specific.
Sheetz is very hit or miss. Some items are not worth the price and taste very generic, but other items taste great and are a good value. My recommendation is to experiment and see what you like. For example, the Pork Pot Stickers taste amazing, especially with the asian sauce, but you only get 3 tiny pieces for $5, so it depends on your budget and if that's worth it for you. For like $6 , you can get a footlong Meatball sub which isn't great but will completely fill you up versus 3 bites of pot stickers for almost the same price that absolutely will not feel you up. Just depends on your budget and how hungry you are.
No Sheetz here in Cali but I would love this. Anytime I can get some decently good food while I get gas is a win win. We got Krispy Krunchy Chicken at a few gas stations here. It amazes me that the some of the best fried chicken and honey butter biscuits I can get are at a damn gas station.

Rutters is very similar to Sheetz, but in my opinion much better. Sheetz has some good food, but it's common for me to see something that looks good only for me to try and be very disappointed. Their fried foods are almost always on point for me tho.

My wife and I are currently vacationing in the Bahamas. We are at the Atlantis resort and there are hundreds of people walking around with Sheetz name tags. It's the 3rd day in a row I'm seeing them. Apparently this company can afford to have conferences at hotels that cost $400-$500 per night with crazy overpriced food, drinks and excursions/activities. If the company can afford that, guess what that says about value to the consumer!? Buyer beware!! Y'all are paying for that!

Last time I was in sheetz a Jewish elder mentioned he doubts the hot dogs were kosher, having never broken kosher his entire life. The staff told him it was…. Until he came back raving how delicious the next time to find out they lied. The staff called him a retard and manager chased him out of the store. He cried for a week. Got corporate to come down on them. Did it change? Management openly would talk shat on the old man for weeks. He contributed to the community financially…. Very significantly. Sheetz dragged him through the mud in our town. And made him fail to keep kosher after 60 years straight. No shame.
I had a friend that worked at chipotle and ate it 3 times a week, had to have stomach surgeries just from the spices. the over spiced meat isn't cooked enough, and he suffered from it. Be careful about that because it drilled a hole.
Sheetz isn’t trash! You just gotta find the right combination. The brats and hot dog suck. But what doesn’t is the 4.99 combo 6 inch meatball & steak, yes together sub with fries and a vanilla Mountain Dew. It’s a home run. Stick with that every time then find a solid alternate.
Burritos and quesarritos are about the best things at Sheetz. The only thing that sucks is that different cooks seem to have different ideas of how much food 7-8 bucks gets you. Fuckin’ Sheetz by me gives you the tiniest-ass burritos, like a quarter the size of that monster. Just not worth buying.

It can be 2:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday in my suckass (not really) rural 20sq miles of PA and while Im staring at this atv thats been in the shop all morning with a multitude of issues: I can decide I want a frickn burger and fries. 2 minutes for the order and 30 min later doordash shows up and theres my shiz 🤷♂️
