  • After 69,000 miles, it's beyond time to replace the front and rear axle fluids. This 2005 Dodge 2500 Diesel HD 6 speed manual transmission truck is a one owner rig and is equipped with 2020 Ram 2500 takeoff wheels and tires, AMP steps, and a Sony double den stereo.

    On a 2005 diesel ram 4x4, is there a certain level where the oil should be at. Some folks say one inch below the fill hole

    • @danedwards7597
      @danedwards7597  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It should be at the fill hole, so the fluid should be just dripping out

    On a Cummins recommendation to change how many miles in between?

    • @danedwards7597
      @danedwards7597  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I believe they recommend 7 to 10k on oil and 5k on fuel filter. I do both around 10k and I’ve switched to Rotella T5

    Olá amigo, jáh troquei 3 vezes os dois retentores e o óleo continua vazando. O ano da minha dodge ram 2500 é 2005. Eu li em foruns para não encher demais de óleo que vaza. Acho que deve ser isso. Acho que meu mecânico enche de óleo até vazar pelo oficío, no entanto li que nos diferenciais dianteiros das dodge ram ano 1994, tem que deixar 1 polegada abaixo da parte inferior do orifício. Você sabe tecnicamente qual o nível máximo, exato e correto, limite de óleo que nao deve passar?

    Is there a torque spec for the differential bolts? Do you ever flush the inside of the differential with break clean to clean out the bottom of the differential. Let me know thanks & great video 😁

      I'm not sure if there's a torque spec for the bolts and I have flushed the inside before with brake clean, but only when they are really dirty. This one was looking real good.

    I have a 1500 mega cab 06 with the hemi and it has the aam 10.5. Do these truck requested a limited slip additive

    • @danedwards7597
      @danedwards7597  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It only needs the additive if it has clutches, or friction discs, if it is a limited slip type differential.

    I’m getting this exact model truck from my father In law and have never owned a diesel before and was wondering where do I add DEF and how can I check the levels?

    • @danedwards7597
      @danedwards7597  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it’s the same year 2005, there’s no DEF. You scored! I don’t think the DEF started until the 2010+ years

      @@Leandrogmrd I think the rule of thumb would be to fill it up until oil leaks out of the hole you are filling it up to. That's how you check the level anyhow is to remove the screw and put your small finger in the hole. I use an oil extractor to suck the oil out of my differentials so that I don't have to unbolt everything and change the seal out.
