LABAN MOVEMENT ANALYSIS is a method for observing, describing, and understanding movement developed by Rudolf Laban.
They provide an inroad to understanding movement and for developing movement efficiency and expressiveness.
The four basic movement components in Laban Movement Analysis are:
1. Body
2. Shape
3. Space
4. Effort
LABAN'S EIGHT EFFORTS
It is a classification of movement qualities that help describe and analyze how movement is performed. These efforts are based on combinations of four basic components. Each Effort is a distinct combination of these components, resulting in eight distinct movement qualities.
