Good morning Greg. I have an issue with a rotten wood I think rim joist. My house is raised on three continuous block walls that run the length of the house and the ends are open. At one end the south east corner there are support "joists" and the one has rotted about an eight foot length that extends to and over the corner where it meets the cement of the block wall. I have consulted with three local companies and they all have a different opinion on a repair. Can you point me in the direction of one of your videos or what repair needs to be done please.

Are these foundations actually to code? I had considered doing one with pier and beam (first example) but could not find anything about them in the IIRC except for use with decking.

I think the too deep,steep is perfect condition to add fish. Gives them a lot more real estate to hide from predators and reproduce.
