The biggest worry for city is who will be their right back. Obviously Kyle Walker is not fit and that's the area Madrid is most dangerously strong as vinicius and Rodrigo builds their play from the left.

@@russellward4624 in a three CB's defense pep would play akanji but I don't think city will play in that formation against Madrid because that gives vinicius more space to cut through the left. I believe pep would go a 4-2-3-1 formation as it's an away match.

I think first leg pep formation will be 4-2-3-1
People who base their current predictions based off of a previous season’s performance have zero football knowledge. Squads, tactics, team chemistry, and form change. City was peaking last season. Their performances this year are far less consistent, and they are far more vulnerable. Real Madrid completely changed their predictable tactics where all attacks came down the left wing. Now, with Bellingham, their attack is less predictable. Defensive, RM is far better than they were last season - even with all the injuries. This is not to say RM will progress with certainty, but to say that I wouldn’t bet on City either. It’s 50-50 in my opinion, and if RM achieve a 2 goal advantage in the Bernabeu, it’s over. Even a 1 goal advantage would leave it up to fate, extra time, or even penalties imo. If City get a draw or win in Madrid, they progress.

Call me a Madman but Real is going through this time. Never in the history! Never! Real has been knocked out twice by the same team in the consecutive manner. I know! Its Pep! Man City! Last season ofcourse City was motivated and hungry to win their first ever UCL, and Carlo starting Kroos as CDM,Tchouameni and Rudiger not starting last season at etihad was a blunder. This time Tchouameni will start either as a CB or CDM, and this will cause major problems for City in the final third. Real's new formation 4-3-1-2 with Jude as No.10 will counter city's possession. Ofcourse city will have the ball, But on counterattack city will not stop Real Madrid. City can be the best team right now! But they are not Real Madrid. Real Madrid may not be the best team, but everyone knows who they are in this competition. This tie will be tough, City will have the ball, but real will convert whenever they get a chance. With kyle not starting will exploit a huge space for Vini in the middle and the left wing. This one will be a close tie but once Mbappe lands in Madrid its over for City once and for all in Europe.

RM midfield will be a handful for City I think. Jude, Kroos, Modric & Kamavinga are just too good individually and collectively. Each of them, esp Jude, can score or set up Vini & or Rodrigo. City will have to be resilient defensively & offensively in mid field in order to keep RM under pressure than on the offensive.

Stones is an alternative right back, the Gvardiol and Akanji will play as another left back and CB they will stop Vini and Rodrygo.

City got a great team with a lot of options. I don't see any excuse for City just for Walker, there is just a lack of consistency in their defense since Season started. But RM got problem with Defense injuries. However, they managed to almost not drop points in laLiga. City is favorite but RM will probably surprise City.

It was clear in the Liverpool match
If MC wins or ties the first leg against RM at the Bernabeu then my prediction will be that MC will eliminate and advance to the semi-finals and play against either Arsenal or Bayern Munich.
But ... if RM has a good result in the first match playing at home in Madrid then they will do their best to play for at least a draw in the deciding 2nd match at Etihad Stadium in Manchester and eliminate MC.
My second prediction is that the winner of this series will most likely win the championship and lift the silver trophy on June 1st at Wembley Stadium in London.

I think Madrid have got a real chance against City this year. Their defence is weaker especially without Kyle Walker and I see Madrid getting a lot of joy down the left. The question is whether Madrid can keep them out the other end. If Madrid play conservatively they can win. If they try playing gung-ho they could get destroyed again.
