No one is asking this question. How comes the government proposes 3% on every salaried worker and then again say that the highest person will be paying 2,500. This means that those earning less than 83,333.33 will be most affected coz the government will take exactly 3%. For a person earning 500,000, the 3% would be 15,000 and 2,500 is just peanuts. Why can't the 3% cut across every earner? This only means the house levy bill is a white elephant actually meant to hurt the hustlers
Eric, Kenya is a presidential system. Therefore there is no opposition in parliament but majority and minority. Our system changed with the promulgation of the 2010 construction. There's nothing like government in waiting. Take example of the US presidential system which we borrowed. Trump ruled with minority in the House of Representatives throughout his one term. And currently Biden is having minority in the same House. Why can't you people educate people on the system that we have? I wonder how even most of MPs don't understand our system. At least today I'm happy to find one who understands the system.

yes and you only recover VAT if you can show the insurance company you have paid VAT for the lost goods ie indemnity for actual loss. Therefore, what is actually being proposed is a 'punishment' tax for losing your goods and being adequately compensated by your insurance company... basically you are taxed twice🤷♂
