  • Here Ilias and Fintan from our technical team show how to seal Pro Clima Intello Plus around a window. This method uses Pro Clima Tescon Profil airtight window sealing tape and is for the interior side of a timber frame wall or roof.

If you're doing air-sealing inside, and then attach the finished wall material on top of this membrane. How can you screw any paintings or shelves on this wall, as any >13mm screw will break the membrane?

If possible it is best to include a service zone between the internal finish and the airtight membrane for additional protection from fixings. If the fixing has solid grounds in the background, then its impact on air leakage over the whole building is actually quite small. Large penetrations like pipes have a much bigger influence.

@@EcologicalBuildingSystems My house will be MHM->ProClimaDA->WoodFiber so there will be a lot of MHM to screw things into. That doesn't seem to be typical setup elsewhere in Europe, or at least I haven't seen any videos with such.

@@EcologicalBuildingSystems does this apply to connections between the window frame and ICF blocks?

Our experience is that window reveals are less critical as it is easier to fix boards directly through the membrane as the area tends to be smaller (also rarer to hang pictures or run services in window reveals). The use of service battening is recommended rather than a hard and fast absolute rule.
