  • I disassemble many of the parts to my Chevy Colorado's center console. I slide out the console's center bin, unbolt the base, remove the side panels, reveal the SRS air bag computer, look at the audio and USB accessory wiring and pins in the front of the console, etc. I do not remove the entire center console but I come close!

Other MFR's, such as some years of Dodge RAM, 2017~ all that is needed is move a fuse half into next position, it toggles using a common lead so either powers by battery or ign. Smart idea all MFR's should incorporate!

Very informative. I'm glad you did a little exploring on removing pieces. This will help me greatly for my next couple projects

If you were looking for ign. switched power you could have accessed it in the fuse box behind the passenger kick panel.

Just came across this video. But did you have to remove the lid? if so do you have a separate video of how to remove just the lid, I need to replace mine, and can't seem to find one on youtube.

Hey there, danthekidcrymes. I never removed the lid that acts as an armrest. When I read your comment, I guessed that that you need to push one of the arms/hinges inward/inbound. I looked at the video again and if I needed to remove the lid I would start by removing the "bin". I am guessing this might provide the access needed to play around with those hinges. Just a guess on my part. The video shows removing the bin here, at 8:20 th-cam.com/video/jwlkZj46mk0/w-d-xo.html

GM clearly doesn't want you or me in there. There's no reason why the small piece with the stressed corner couldn't have been held in with a couple of screws. It's just crazy

Hello Thom, I got the trim tools from Harbor Freight. They have them in the auto body section. Thanks for commenting!
