Chile is as seismic as Japan, in fact Chile has had the largest earthquake recorded by seismological devices in human history, 9.5 ° Richter in 1960 that caused a gigantic tsunami that even killed people in Japan. All of our buildings, houses, bridges are built to withstand earthquakes of more than 8.5 ° Richter. No country, except Japan, can teach us how to build, we have had to find a way, and learn from our mistakes. This is important since in the last 11 years we have had 3 earthquakes above 8 degrees (including the one on Feb 27 2010, which was 8.8 ° Richter) and we have had eight earthquakes above 7 degrees. In Chile, people do not move, we do not worry, we do not even get up at night, if the earthquake is not more than 7 °
@@alejandraalvarado4622 - It's good to hear that you guys have been proactive in getting your buildings sorted out for earthquakes. I live just outside Portland, Oregon and we have the same type of subduction fault off of our coast as Chile and Japan. Our Cascadia fault ruptures on average every 500 years and the last time was around a 9.0 in 1700 so we've still got some time before it happens again (geologists say it's a 1 in 10 chance in the next 50 years.) Unfortunately, we aren't nearly as prepared for the next one as you guys are, but we are slowly trying to get ready for it when it does. Hopefully it'll hold off for 100 years or so because if it happened today, it'd be a really big disaster, nothing on the scale of what happened to Japan or Indonesia, but we'd have coastal towns wiped off the map and probably a large number of people killed by collapsed buildings throughout the region.
Because the camera's moving so much, you can't really see much of the earthquake except for some of the tree branches near the end. if it wasn't for those 3 girls exclaiming in fear, you couldn't tell that something scary was happening.
The shaking was not bad at Yasukuni Jinja because it's in the hills of Tokyo, deep inland. These hills are made of granite and other strong bedrock. This lessens the shaking by a lot. The really bad shaking in Tokyo during the March 11, 2011 earthquake happened right around Tokyo Bay, in the landfill areas. The shaking was terrible there, and very bad if you were in one of those skyscrapers there. This is due to liquefaction of water-logged soils right around the bay.

I've seen videos near the coast of the ground rolling with water pumping out from between the asphalt road and the concrete sidewalk, it was really something else, and this didn't look nearly as dramatic (though I'm sure still frightening at the time.)
Terrifying well done for your bravery , such a shame that Tepco will not admit meldowns at Fukushima are out of control and get the world to help , 9 years of nuclear pollution its going to be too late . So sad for Japan people . Best of luck. uk

茨城の鹿島神宮では大鳥居倒壊しました
それだけやばい揺れだったのか、それとも靖国神社より年数が立っていたからかは分かりませんが根っこから倒れたそうです。
