Oh thank goodness. I took a side shoot down low of my camellia japonica (zone 6b April variety) to air layer in a container with a brick like you showed and it’s done NOTHING. Now I know it wasn’t me. Top cuttings only. This is one of a thousand reasons why it’s fantastic to find actual experts among the noise of repeated and reflected non-original information that clogs up the internet. Thanks once again
Thank you Jim and Stephany for another opportunity to meet more people in the industry. Everyone brings something different to the table and we appreciate that. 😊🌳🏵
It would be neat to see what all's in Jason's home garden. Probably quite luscious. Great video! Thank you to all who help, y'all are awesomely informative. I take notes and rewind a lot on your vids, Jim and Stephany. You are helping so many folks.
Oh my God this guy is a little bit either shy, or just doesn’t like being on camera❤️Good thing Jim that you carried the conversation in this video. I loved the plants and even made a note of which ones I wanted in my garden. Thank you for all you do and continue to visit garden centers it’s very interesting.
Jason just seems like a easy going guy. He doesn't have to be an extrovert to share the gardening trade. We are fortunate that he was willing to share his time. Thankyou Jason, Jim, and Steph for interesting content that is informative and is something new.
Jim, He spoke of a Pine Knot Farms Hellebores Festival. Will you & Stefany be going & filming so the rest of us can live it vicariously thru ya'all? Pleeeeease?! 😊
You've already put growing camellias on my agenda, so I loved this. I am SW VA in Z6b, so I really appreciated the inclusion and information on varieties that are cold hardy. Jason seems a great guy-a farmer, which is what a nurseryman is.
I think a lot of gardeners will be looking for evergreens that faired well in the arctic blast (particularly us in Tennessee). Do you think you’ll highlight a list like this? 😊
I'm betting natives are going to fare the best overall. I'd like to see more emphasis on them or at least imports with a long history of surviving our crazy weather.
Pine Knot Farms. It looks like there are two - one in NC and one right across the border in VA. They don’t seem to be related based on their websites. Which one are we talking about?
I moved to the Atlanta area from a life in Ohio & Illinois. Coming right from college in Chicago was a serious culture shock! I've been here over 40 years now & consider myself a southern gal.
I live in Indiana in the Ohio Valley region. Can I keep Camilla's in a container year round since they won't technically grow in my area? I love the pink Jean May Camilla, it's just beautiful. I have a greenhouse that I can keep it in in the Winter. Will they survive long term in a container? Thank you. I love your channel, I love your videos. I have learned so much from you.
Jim, Can you tell me more about the Arborvitae Fern, which you said is neither? What is it? What size does it grow. Does it spread well? What parameters does it need? Thank you. 😊
Jim thanks for these type of videos. You are the reason for my love of camellias. I have 4 Sea Foam Camellia Japonica that I put in the groin in October 2021. They didn’t bloom and I was excited this year when I saw the buds swelling. Would you know the December 2022 Arctic Blast came and my poor plants look fried. I’m going to leave them alone and fertilize in February and see that happen. Im in Gulf Coast Texas zone 9.
You mentioned sun tolerance on the April Remembered - can it take mostly sun in the winter? I'm in 6b, and the spot I want to put it is mostly shady in the summer, but the shade is from deciduous trees, so pretty sunny until the leaves come back in spring. I have a Snow Flurry that gets sun the first half of the day all year round and it's been just fine. thanks.
I've loved my Selaginella for over 15 years. It's lovely planted intermingled with my Hosta in a blue ceramic square container. I divided a bunch last year & noticed it's a little slow to re-establish but worth the wait. I'm hoping the occasional white variegation I get on one of mine will come back. Has variegation in Selaginella been tried or is it too unstable? A bit far for me to travel but thanks for the information. Hug that old dog for me, handsome fella!
It's interesting seeing this side of the garden industry. He mentioned illiciums right at the end. I'm curious which types and if that includes grey ghost? I've been looking for one since you showed it on your channel.
Arkansas Zone 7b took a severe hit in the Artic Blast. I tried to cover so many plants. It seems like camellia Japonicas took the worst hit. Their leaves look like they had been in a freezer. Not sure how much will survive.

Jason has a laid back personality. Great tips!
Thanks to you Jim, I have 13 camellias in my front yard. And now I’ve found another beauty🪴 Thank you !!!
Jim you’re a great interviewer making the person feel comfortable in front of the camera with your calm and relaxed technique 👍
Thank you Jim and Stephany for another opportunity to meet more people in the industry. Everyone brings something different to the table and we appreciate that. 😊🌳🏵
Those buds actually remind me of a peony (my fave) bud.
Thanks Jim for bringing Jason from Superior Plants to us! Interesting plants
Hello Mr Jim and Stephany, thanks for showing beautiful plants 🪴 😀
It would be neat to see what all's in Jason's home garden. Probably quite luscious. Great video! Thank you to all who help, y'all are awesomely informative. I take notes and rewind a lot on your vids, Jim and Stephany. You are helping so many folks.
I'll take one of each! 🤣 I'm going to have to save this video so I can write all those plant recommendations down.
Camilla seem to be growing in popularity. My neighbor planted a hedge of them. Just beautiful!
Will look forward to Pine Knot farm sale! Beautiful plants!
Great video! I like that Jason is trying to be unique gardeners look for variety.
Do you have any more information on the Pine Knot sale? I'm having trouble finding additional information. Thanks! Love your videos!
Thanks Jim. ❄️💚🙃

He sounds terribly bored.
I agree…something was off. Unfortunately he made it hard to watch.

@@lukerobson4962 Agreed, I appreciate the info and knowledge.
Cool. It’s always interesting to learn from an expert about something like plants with winter interest. 👍🏼
Such beautiful plants, I definitely will be looking for some of these! Bonus points for the dog clips!
Jim,
He spoke of a Pine Knot Farms Hellebores Festival. Will you & Stefany be going & filming so the rest of us can live it vicariously thru ya'all? Pleeeeease?! 😊
Love these kind of videos! More nursery tours plz
Great plants, information and nursery. I hope you’ll be making a return visit, to see Jason’s Daphne and other interesting plants.

Thanks, Jason, Jim and Stephany! Great plants!
I think I will be replacing a lot of plants in the spring due to freeze damage. Always glad for evergreen inspiration!
Great information & awesome nursery. I appreciate all of the 6b highlights ❤😊!
Will be marking the calendar for Pine Knot Farms open house. Thanks Jim!
Where is Pine Knott Farms located?
Beautiful plants. Nice to “meet” Jason

This would be interesting but difficult since there are so many factors affecting a plant’s performance in these conditions. 🤔
I'm betting natives are going to fare the best overall. I'd like to see more emphasis on them or at least imports with a long history of surviving our crazy weather.
Great assortment of different plants!
Thanks for all your videos always helpful
Pieris, temple bells. I like tough easy plants. Adding this one to my list. Enjoyed the video 😊
Lots of inspiration from this video but in New Jersey we need to know if the deer will devour it.

Virginia side of the border
My northern ears had to increase the playback speed, but this was a really interesting video. 😄 I enjoy these peeks behind the scenes.

Great video. Wish I could shop there!

Thanks Jim great video
That was a great video!

Do you have any thing to transplant now

Yay zone 6b camellias. I’ve grown camellias by seed but they have never returned the next year .
Are there any compact, dwarf Camelia Japonica plants?
Arkansas Zone 7b took a severe hit in the Artic Blast. I tried to cover so many plants. It seems like camellia Japonicas took the worst hit. Their leaves look like they had been in a freezer. Not sure how much will survive.
Kinda slow
You can change the playback speed, or there’s always The Kardashian’s show. 😀
