    How's you kettle holding up? Have you noticed any issues with copper side?

    does the copper offer any advantage (heat retention?) over the other colors? or is it just cosmetic?

      @Coffeeloversmag  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just cosmetic. The interior of all the kettles is the same.

    I was looking at the electric variable temperature version of this but the bad reviews on Amazon and some reddit threads about how it just stopped working after a couple months have scared me away. I still love the design of the kettle though. Are you still using this same one? I’ve seen complaints about the thermometer breaking or water getting into the gauge? Have you had any problems like this? Would you still recommend this kettle after two years?

      Yea i still use this Kettle every day, just as good as the day i got it. I don't have any experience with the electric version. Haven't had any problems like others have commented with this version though.

    Good review. I like how you illustrated the balance of the design. Never seen anyone point it out that way. I'm surprised you didn't burn yourself on the metal at the top of the handle since I've heard a lot of people warn others about that. I really wanted to add the EKG to our lineup as our electric gooseneck since we already have the Hario Buono stovetop kettle but I forgot to jump into the Kickstarter before it closed so the search continues. I wonder what the melting point of the handle is. I have a feeling it is around 600°F like quality kitchen tools.

      I have the EKG and you really should consider adding it to your lineup. I've had other electric kettles but the fellows EKG really has blown my mind. It boils super fast, hold the temp for a hour, looks great and feels great when you pour it. The spout is precise and it really allows be to fully wet the coffee in my v60 for the bloom. The control of the flow is amazing and the balance allows me to pour perfectly and slowly. Seriously its the best electric kettle.

      Yea i've burned myself that way with other kettles. It's certainly hot to the touch, but no burny is nice :D.
      I should have mentioned in the video that I have an electric glass top stove. The heating of the handle problem might be bigger for other styles of stove.

      I'd totally grab the EKG, but I have almost no counter space where I live right now :P
      Loving the stovetop fellow though.

      I've only used our kettle on the portable induction top which is nice. Need to try it in the gas range some day.,

      I am sure I would in a heartbeat if I had not come across the Kickstarter but since I have, it is harder to justify the cost since I could have gotten it for a much lower price and also a discounted Acaia Pearl.

    Is the area around the thermometer silicone or metal? I’m wondering does the thermometer get too hot to open the lid once it’s at boil?

    Have you ever tried it on gas stove? And what about melted handle issue and discoloration of it's coating?

    • @Coffeeloversmag
      @Coffeeloversmag  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No gas stove usage for me yet. On electric stoves only here. No melting handle, no discoloration of the coating.

      Lil late but I use mine on a gas stove, it is totally fine! I did melt the handle once, rip. Also I have had mine for 5 years and it def has discoloration that doesnt wash away

    About how long does this take to boil on your glass top stove? Trying to decide between stovetop and EKG (also have limited counter space at my place...)

    • @Coffeeloversmag
      @Coffeeloversmag  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never timed it to be honest. But from separate experiences with electric and stovetop kettles, I don't think the time difference is all that tremendous. It would make sense for the electric to be more efficient technically, but probably the difference isn't terribly noticeable.
