What boggles the mind is, did he write this or Undyne's theme(since its the same note progression) first? Because they're both iconic and yet so different in feeling.
@@theargawalathingfairly sure he came up with the leitmotif, which both songs are built upon, first, then built other songs upon it. quite a few songs have this one I think
@@theargawalathingp sure the leitmotif represents monsters, given that it's in ruins (the first time we see monsters) and Undyne's theme, in which she is fighting for the future of all monsters.
There's just something about this part of the concert. It's like watching an emperor be coronated, or seeing a great sunrise. It's like this video captured an important event in time, like a camera. I’m obsessed with these precious four minutes.
I agree but I'd give second place to InstrumentManiac's instrumental cover of waterfall with no hesitation. You should defeinitely check it out (sorry for being 3 years late).
NGL I legit shed tears when this started playing in the concert. Waterfall is one of my favorite songs in the whole ost, and the way they rearranged it in the concert was just so beautiful It gave me the chills, they managed to make one of the most beautiful song in the game even more beautiful, I couldn't help but get emotional. To think that almost 6 years ago I started this game because I was seeing a lot of memes and friends talking about it, I said "I want to see what's the big deal with this Undertale game" and here I am, coming back to this piece over and over to recall the moments I spent playing this game, the friends I made whom which I can talk about UT with, man I just love what this game did to me, a experience I shall never forget.
The full orchestra really imparts the swelling of the music and almost transports you to the underground cavern where this music was composed for. It sounds like it's reverberating all around you
This was everything I had hoped for in an orchestral arrangement of Waterfall and more. I initially thought that it was going to move to Quiet Water and move on from there to other songs and felt a little sad, because Waterfall is one of my favorite pieces from the game. But when it went BACK to Waterfall, with that amazing key change, my arms prickled with chills and my eyes filled with tears. What a masterful arrangement of an amazing song.
I knew I wasnt the only one who noticed this piece of the concert stood appart from the rest.
Your gosh dang right
My personal fav from the game this shit is beautiful
@@Babunki2 why did you comment
It's songs like these that really make you think "One man wrote this...how in the actual fuck did one man write this, just like that???"

I mean, I know a lot of artists that did that. I know for a fact, Ludwig van Beethoven was one of ‘em.

3:05 never fails to give me chills
It also gave me chills
I'm pretty sure that everyone watching the concert felt a chill at this moment.
I've never heard a whole string section _wail_ like they do at 3:05. Goddamn.
Without a doubt, this is the definitive version of Waterfall.
The transitions are devastating, they feel so powerful and give many fixed feelings at once: feelings of power and sorrow

the transition is literally so good... I live
1:06 AND 3:05 with the strings coming in just ruins me every time and idk why
Ruins you like emotionally or ruins the song? I like how it sounds, personally
@@NikhilKurup-ot8vd oh emotionally, hard stop. Those swells get me near tears no matter my mood
But it’s in the actual song
@@KeaneJ123 yes and this is a mix of the composition performed with a full classically trained orchestra.

This went from a dog in their basement in 2015. From a whole ass worldwide concert
I absolutely love this. My favorite part of the concert. I always get chills. Especially at the end, I didn't expect that to happen the first time

Waterfalls always gives me the chills
Thank you for putting this up, this was absolutely my favorite part of the concert since it's my 2 favorite songs played back to back
The full orchestra really imparts the swelling of the music and almost transports you to the underground cavern where this music was composed for. It sounds like it's reverberating all around you
This soundtrack sounds beautiful yet tragic at the same time
I'm so glad someone clipped this it's a killer composition--literal chills
Thanks for posting!!
This was my favorite part in the entire concert. So incredibly beautiful.
Honestly, this song is one of my favorites of all toby fox songs. Something in it just makes my mind float
2:24 and on, that part is so fuckin prettyyy
I can't believe I got my heart wrenched out over a year ago now. Time flies too fast
wave after wave of chills during this piece
This will always be one of my favourite pieces of music to ever exist
This + Subnautica = T_T
Deserves to be classic

The strings tho. Best part
This song should have played at asgores corination
I didn’t understand, is waterfall and quiet water the same compositions? Or it’s like, idk.. ._.
Not originally, but the concert has moments where they combine a few songs to make them more impactful
