Here's a simpler idea: If you don't like certain books libraries carry, just don't read them. Don't take that "freedom" away from everyone else who wants to read them. Also, these groups don't realize that this is the most basic form of reverse psychology; when you tell kids not to do something because it's bad or dangerous it makes them want to do it even more. When Maus got banned from school libraries last year, online sales for it went up because kids who had never heard of it suddenly wanted to read it.
Because while you may be super intelligent, there are many many people who are not blessed with intelligence and they need help and guidance to prevent them falling down a sewer hole.

If these companies are exposed to the people they can gain some of the voice back. If the people do not like what the elected are doing, they can vote when they choose the products and services that they buy. This would be less money in the system. We need to make public all of the donors and the kinds of things that buying their products and services is doing to their schools, states and cities. Currently we are supporting things that are not interested in. We need a campaign to tell the public to make their votes heard at the cash register.

CBS is distorting and outright lying about Florida's new law. DeSantis is removing pornography books currently used to teach 5 yr old's. How many lies from the MSM does it take before you stop trusting their reporting?
And what agendas are teachers pushing on kids? Say what it is and how it’s wrong instead of expecting a negative reaction from people who already agree with you.
So after all the books are banned…what’s next??? The clothing? The lunch/food? What next?…is the question you should be asking yourselves. Every parent should have a say in what their children learn in school…EVERY parent. How hypocritical for those of you who want to control what my children DON’T get the opportunity to read; while complaining if I try to control what your children DO get the opportunity to read. Each teacher should send a reading list home to parents at the beginning of the school year so that parents can “opt out” of the books they do not want their children to read…just as they can “opt out” of any field trip they don’t want their children to attend. My child has the right to attend public schools just as yours do…and they have the right to read books that are not based on someone else’s parents’ beliefs or ideology. So, if you get what you want for your child, but I don’t get what I want for my child…what makes you and your child better than I and my child??? Please ban the Bible while your at it…there’s some awful references in it…especially when Lot offers his virgin daughters to be raped and possibly murdered. Or when the girls sleep with their father and get pregnant. But, I’m sure you Bible scholars overlook or justify the Bible, huh? I love the Bible…but I’m not a hypocrite and I call it as I see it.
The bible should be included in the ban, you don't need the bible to get good grades. Reading material is available in public libraries. Schools should have school books that help with grades etc
The books are not being banned either you can still check them out at any public library or purchase them this is fear mongering you can show your kids a karma sutra book on your own time not in a public school.. people are messed up
None of this wouldn't have happened had there not been school's down in Florida with actual policies to deny these children's parents the right to know what these kids are or what they're wearing or what they're being called. That's why all of this happened this is a repercussion of people trying to push their ideological beliefs on other people's children I don't see anything wrong with then checking all the schools to make sure they got all the questionable material out!!! And to try to paint this as if it's anything else is utterly disgusting 🤮

If you don't believe children's books should be reviewed for things like pornography and political dogma that turns children against other kids, then you don't really care about the children.
I don't think pornography exists in Children's Books. If it was it would have been discovered when parents read to their children. Or kids would say pornographic things Infront of their parents
reviewing things for pornography is fine, but a great majority of the books he is banning are ones that surround the LGBTQ community, racism, and other things.

Flowers in the Attic is apparent reading range rating is 14 and up. It is now banned in many districts but not all. When I was in high school it was in my library, I took it home. Big mistake. It’s right up there to one of the most disturbing and puke inducing books I’ve ever read, second only to “The Painted Bird” which surprisingly also has a reading age range rating of 14-18 years old.
I bring up age range ratings because just because something is deemed age-appropriate, doesn’t mean it actually is nor does it mean that just because it has sex or gay scenes but labeled for 16 year olds doesn’t mean it is age-appropriate either. I think reviewing books before going into school libraries is a good thing. I kinda wish this was a thing when I was in school.

The people can vote on these businesses at the cash register. They are too afraid to run for office so they rule government by proxy. We need to know who is really in charge and what their hidden agenda is for the people. They are making these decision in the board rooms and in secrecy. The when they decide that pass the will of the governor and other elected people on to the people that have no voice in any of this. That's why all of this happened this is a repercussion of people trying to push their ideological beliefs on other people's children I don't see anything wrong with then checking all the schools to make sure they got all the questionable material out!!! And to try to paint this as if it's anything else is utterly disgusting 🤮
Yeah, I agree. It's time we removed the Bible and other cultural books from schools.
It's a slippery slope. At first it's just rules until it's blood
@@SlandersPeteif they don’t strategically plan what we are and aren’t allowed to learn, how on earth would they be able to control us, silly! 😋
@@yourmom2189 There are techniques and methods we don't even know about that they use to make us do what they want.
Those cleaners speech if not allowed no more the go to prison for speaking out what's wrong and what's right is that all new law
Sounds like the start of fascism to me .
This is the same state that banned 1984 after all in the 80s
Provide an honest summary of your opponents' arguments that they will agree with, without using strawmen. Then share your orginal unedited thought on what they said, without using others' clichés or simple ideological ideas. That is the only way to have reciprocal and enlightening conversations as you exchange your partially held truths and spotting prejudices. Ideologies from both radical left and extreme right could go to far. I learned this from Dr. Jordan B. Peterson's 12 Rules for Life, which persented as a classical psychological conversational method.
In Florida, no books are or can be 'banned' because doing so is unconstitutional. Pornographic books were removed from elementary and middle school libraries by Ron Desantis. Those ill books must be blackmarked or vagued when displayed on TH-cam and cable news. That is common sense policy, and those on the left, or claiming to be on the left, are willing to use wild strawmen that distort and misrepresent facts. Any reasonable person would agree with DeSantis in this case, except for those Postmodern Marxist ideologues.
Let us remember, ideas have consequences and can be dangerous. The ideas of Carl Marx caused deaths of billions in Soviet Gulags and CCP's Maoist cultural revolution. I do still support freedom of speech as I deem it the least worst option in this flawed world. As in past and current societies that had or is regulating speech, they were or is in hell. That's because if you cannot answer who have the right to regulate what speeches. Then in a reasonable amount of time, the least person you want to be regulating speech will be regulating speech. This is also paraphrased from a JBP Q&A from Oxford Union.
What is wrong learning about racism I learned it in school it teaches the kids how to treat each other’s the same way and not how someone looks
Teaching about racism goes against their agenda of White-Male Supremacy, female subservience, segregation and so on. Like Holocaust-denial, if you stop teaching about it, then you can undermine the sympathy they receive from their allies.
My son is just starting college and i was going to pay his way thru University of Florida but since they have banned all books! my son will be going to a great school not a questionable political freak show! My son will learn by the book not by the computer and the liars.I will spend a lot, going to his State but for a good education we make sacrifices! He will be at the top of the honor roll just like his dad was!
Florida bans over 160 books. But what they will never ban is a girl on a Florida beach wearing a micro thong bikini. There are a little children on every beach in Florida.

So that's why the Bible is banned from school
It's not, I have one right here to my left side, along with the 100% accuracy 1006 question Japanese test also to the left side of the holy bible.
This is outages, for the state to allow oner person to have a book ban...It seen like the state of Florida has totally when Rip Van Winkle....The individuals who want to ban books need to move to Montana!!!

A massive book is not a ban or an attack.
Hopefully, they also got rid of those horrible offenders like:
All math books
All science books
Any books that contain words
The bible
Otherwise, it's a title 9 violation and discriminatory.

People are trying to make this solely a LGBTQ and race issue however one of the banned books in a county in Florida is “Berenstain Bears The big question” it is about God and religion.
That's not right.
A real hater. The little man
When defunding education wasn't enough to ensure an uneducated work force who have to take the low-paying jobs and keep rich folks rich. I'd rather have Trump for president than De Suckis.
I pick C for Pres... none of the above
Nope, Desantis is a clone of him. If he was still in office, banning books would probably be on his to-do list as well.
@@amylee8969 Desantis betrayed Trump. Trump was not a racist, Desantis IS on the other hand. I never liked Rhonda, he is a Poor Man's Trump and a bad one. I don't like Obama or Clinton or Bush or Biden.
the diary of anne frank aswell, apparently.
The Diary of Anne Frank was required reading when I was in 8th grade in the fifties.
Florida is just regressing more and more.
People need to buy up Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny” and hand that out to every high school student so that each student can see what fascism looks like.

I wish they were doing that in my state is important to protect our children
Or, you could move to Florida! I hear it’s beautiful there!
How is it protecting children when you ban an autobiography? I mean, I hope they don't do that, because just looking at your grammar scares me about how many books you have read and english classes you have attended
