Love the honesty here kal. So glad on how open you are with it all now days. I am sure a lot of others who are going through similar diagnosis will take a lot from a video like this one. :)

Great vid Kal, super interesting to think about how parents approach a progressive disability. I wonder if you have any tips for parents?

Thanks Georgey, that should definitely be its own video. I'll have to get in touch with some parents to get their tips also. I appreciate the consistent great ideas from you!

Thanks for sharing about your journey! It's good to see you are not alone with this - I related a lot. I was also diagnosed at 14/16 and now I am 31. Disclosing to friends and family is not easy, congrats on your courage to create this channel. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos!

I relate to this. While I dont have fshd, I am partially blind in one eye although my other eye is correctable with glasses. It actually does really affect my life in sport and I cant drive also. But ive found things I can do..ive recently gotten into bouldering and rock climbing. its great and doesnt involve much depth perception since the boulders are right up close to my face. I also live near a train that I can take to work and gives me that mobility I need. My life is still great even with these challenges.
Im also really open about it at work because sometimes I do need accommodations like a bigger screen or the ability to print things since looking at computer screens for too long hurts my eyes. My issue was due to a really shitty eye infection and isn't genetic but it def impacted my life alot. We all have challenges in life for sure and everyone has to adapt in some way I think.

Thanks for the comment Natasia! It's great that you've found some things that you can do and that provide you joy. I remember getting into bouldering a few years ago, it's very addictive! I really admire your attitude and how open you are about what you're going through. I agree that everyone has their own things going on and I think that's what makes people interesting and unique. It really is all about figuring out what you can do and being happy with that. I appreciate the comment :)
