I think Alstom-trams are the best in the world.

I think, this tram is intelligent decision for urban transport - available and reliable, safety and comfort, traditional and innovative. I want to go by Citadis in Astana.

jan 2012 :Dubai’s long-awaited Al Sufouh tram project could see its launch date delayed further as liquidity woes continue to slow construction, Arabian Business has learned.

there are classes on public transport and women are segregated at the back... How very 1950's! I'm sure Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. are turning in their grave at the thought! (although it's not a matter of race in this case!)

.... Oops forgot to mention the difference! The compartment is RESERVED for woman ply as a COURTECY for Muslim woman! As a woman (Muslim or not) you can travel in ANY clas!!! I.o.w. It's not a segregation or discrimination of woman! :) It's a courtesy for islamitic woman wo -due to their religion- don't want to travel surrounded by men!

Tree classes in Dubai Metro and tram? Yes, indeed: The "GOLD" first class is very airplanes alike. Reason: the traffic jams are unbievable! With a Limousine or Lamborgini, it takes hours. But when you have and used to limousines comfort, you don't want to stand for 30-60 mins in the metro! And, every limo or whatever car not driving on the 2X5-6 lanes does help to release the meanwhile totally jammed roads! And yes, it does work! More and more very rich people do take a 20-30-60 min ride Gold class, getting out of their limo at the M-station instead of doing it in their limo 3-4 even 5 times longer! Woman and children only? Yes, they have it as a COURTESY for Muslim woman who don't want to mix with men in public. It's a misunderstanding: woman are NOT required to travel in the "Woman Only" compartment!!! They can travel as wel in Gold Class or standard compartments! Even if you're a Muslim woman!!! On the other hand, non Muslim woman traveling are remarkably mostly taking the "for women reserved" compartment. Maybe because they think wrongly that woman have to take that compartment. IT IS NOT,! But I guess that many them like it not to be stared, touched "accidentally" by men! :) Again: this has NOTHING to do with discrimination!!! No way to compare with black & white segregation in the US till end 50's or South African "Net Blankes / Whites only, or Nazi "Nicht für JUDEN" Please open up your mind! No, I'm not a Muslim! I'm an Atheist!!! But for sure I'm visiting every cathedral,or small Roman church, (even in ruins) in Italy, every Synagogue, Budisth Temple, Mosque, .... in the world!

I don't understand the reason of this distinction. Why compartments for women only? If the train has 5 carriages, let's make 5 all equal carriages. God has made us all equal... didn't he? In Europe a sex based distinction is simply inconceivable.
