Yes that was sweet. And of course one of the things that made Will & Grace successful (as indeed with many dramas/ comedies) is that the audience actually care for the characters.
I think it was meant to be played for laughs, but its kind of touching, really. She was feeling vulnerable and just wanted a hug from a friend. It’s kinda sweet when Karen shows her soft side.
He showed her he was there for her, & she was grateful. This episode always makes me cry, sob, & bawl my eyes out. Not only was Rosie Karen’s best friend & confidante, she was also a loving & compassionate mom to her too. I’m wiping my eyes right now. I miss you too, Rosie….
When Karen said “I need for you not be gone” I started bawling. This scene showed how much she truly cared for Rosario and the pain she’s feeling over losing her. I also love that Karen always goes to Will for emotional support even though the two never really seemed that close.
they were extremely close. Karen came to his defense several times throughout the series, in her own way lmao she viewed jack as herself in male drag. grace was Karen's comic relief but also "girl talk" shenanigans. will was her emotional support, medical support, and legal support and she reciprocated when she needed to (even when she was Anastasia Beaverhausen).
I like to think of the time Grace went through a really bad breakup and while WillJack n Karen were at first being obnoxious, they ended up all just laying in bed with her for comfort. Or the time they found out Karen had fancy bday parties n never told them. When they confronted her, she told them she really does prefer the small cheap parties they throw for her more than anything else and she just throws these fancy ones for show. They are all super close even within their varied dynamics.
I think this is one of the most powerful scenes in the history of Will & Grace because it showcased everything they did best and what made them unique. Meghan’s ability to make Karen - someone who should be so unlikeable - so loveable is pure writing and acting brilliance. The scene was funny, nostalgic and so respectful, you actually believed Karen’s heartbreak. No pill or alcohol could help. It was just her there sitting in her her grief paying tribute to her true mother. It was just so beautiful. I, a grown man can’t stop crying. ❤
Meghan gave us a Masterclass here!! She was herself/Karen saying goodbye to Shelly/Rosie at once. WITHOUT LETTING HER EMOTIONS GET THE BETTER OF HER ASSIGNMENT. BUT STILL CONVEYING THE LOVE WE KNEW KAR HAD FOR ROSIE ALLLL ALONG. Meg deserves every acting award she gets nods for.
When she used her real name. That broke me. So respectful. So dignified. She was like the mother/friend she never wanted to admit. Such an amazing scene.
Karen & Rosario had unmatched chemistry & it definitely showed not only an employer & maid bickering, but a mother/daughter duo as well. Other than the reading of Stan's will to Karen, this is hands down the series best scene.
@@sonsdoingles Sorry, I was referring to Phil Hartman's death. He was amazing in everything he did. It was one thing for his wife to take herself out, but to also take him along with her and leave their young kids alone.
Karen lost the one person she could trust completely, who knew all of her secrets and still supported and loved her for who she was, flaws and all. Of course she'd feel that mix of deep sadness and anger about losing her, Meghan did such a brilliant job portraying how someone like Karen would try to keep it together after losing someone who filled a void in her life that not even her money, booze, drugs or her friends could fill.
A very moving two scenes ! Karen can't handle seeing Rosario going in ground and she is definently heart broken . Will shows Karen compassion and she tries to fend him off , but realizes she needs a tender human moment . 😭
Meghan turned on all her emotions for this episode. It was hilarious, it was poignant but most of all - it was touching. Rosario’s character showed a side we hardly see on Karen. I missed that banter and hate-love relationship between the two as if they were mother and daughter, sisters, best friends and everything in between! RIP Shelley Morrison. ❤️ In the entire storyline, Will probably can sympathize with Karen most about this whole ordeal and Smitty just keeping her cracking up to distract her pain. Its a short piano entrance to Karen walking up to Rosario's casket but that was enough to trigger a sad tear out of me.
The fact she took cleaner from Rosario's grave and cleaned her casket. Karen would NEVER have done that otherwise. It shows a HUGE amount of respect and love. A shallow as she is lol.
The acting in this series is nothing short of amazing. If someone asked me who is the most talented person on this show I would have an incredibly hard time deciding that. Each person was so perfect in the roles they played.
This aired a month before the 2nd anniversary of my grandmother's passing. Her death devastated me and when I saw this, it made me relive that moment of her passing again. She was my everything and I miss her everyday. It just hits home when Karen said she wanted to remember Rosario in her own way. I still think of my grandma when I was a kid, not the 18 year old kid that saw her the last time hooked up to machines and frail. But as a beautiful proud mexican woman.
It felt to me that we lost Rosario twice. Once in the series with these wonderful scenes, and again in real-life when very sadly we really lost the incredible Shelly.
