My respect for Cam Zink just went up immensely. I never knew he was into surfing and BMX.. talking about Dennis Enarson and Garret Reynolds.. two of my heroes right there 🤘
Branden had a rally race the same weekend as Rampage but had already wrapped up the championship, so he let Lia Block (Ken's daughter) drive for that race.
Thought Godzys run was also really good and crazy to watch! The redbull rampage, joyride/slopestyle, district ride and the XGames events for moto, bmx and mountain bikes are the best all year! Look forward to em every year & each year they get crazier, more dangerous & riders are doin things never thought possible! Hope the guys keep killin it & puttin on a great show for us fans!
Ask Kyle what happened to a video he did with Tyler McCaul about new riders....it had an awesome song...bombing stairs at the beach. It was around for a bit...but then it disappeared
All this talk about Bren but yeah, the real narrative is Godzy got robbed. Arguably 2 years in a row but the judging is so inconsistent. If Zink won last year than by that criteria I feel TVS should have won this year. Or at least not been 4th? Best trick is some consolation, as it was for Bienve... I just don't see how anyone (riders or viewers) can understand the criteria when similar runs score so different year to year.
@@tjpighin Did TVS not do a run much like Zinks last year? Yes or no? Also thats not even my personal take on judging, I think Godzy had the best run. But the judges can't have Zink 1st and then TVS 4th with such similar runs.
@TeddyParker you are comparing apples to oranges. Two different sites, different style runs, different riders, and all. If you meant that both their runs had arguably the best trick of each of the events, then yes, they are the same. I would say last year zink had the best trick, and this year, tvs had the best trick. This year was on a less exposed site, so visually and riding it was quite different than last year. Also , this year, everyone was firing on all cylinders and seemed to pick it up from previous years. I would argue that this year was the most competitive rampage to date. Any of the top 4 riders, maybe top 5 runs, could have been winners, depending on how you looked at it. This year was soooo close that it came down to deductions rather than individual features like maybe in the past years. Sometimes, depending on the competition that year, a run needs a banger to set someone apart from another. Then years like this year, everyone was sooooo on another level, you needed a banger and a top to bottom to win it. I don't know if I'm explaining this very well, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say
@TeddyParker as for godziuk, I think if he would have taken second run and clean it up and charge harder, I think he prob would have taken first. It was his to loose per say. 2 big cases and less aggression between features, then arguably one of 2 bangers in his run was at the bottom on the hated "dirtjump section". Like he was not the only flip off of price is right. We both agree the front was more gnarly than the back and there was another back off the same feature and another double flip but bigger and higher on the mountain with higher consequences.
Also, Judges were very close with scoring. With anything judged,, it's gonna be a bit soft. But the top 3 were the top 3. And the next set were at that level. This was the best Rampage of all time, and the scores were debatably close.
Not really, I was in that same perspective years ago until I'm matured and learn how things work. You have to experience doing the sport to really immerse your self to the situation. For example try doing tricks even a flatland tailwhip will tell you how hard it is and doing that on bigger bike on a big feature I'll be damn.
The judging was not "rigged" or bias, I hope people understand but unfortunately no, people who actually watch doesn't understand the runs. I have an idea of making analysis of how Emil won and how Godziek won or even how Semenuk won his titles but scrap the idea as huge percentage of people just purely close minded and I leave them as they should be (dumb)
@ hahahahah the fmb and rampage judging has been skeptical for years before Brendon’s fans got angry. I’ve been watching it since it literally started. There are absolute favourites. Am I upset about the same thing as others from this year? No, but that does not change history. Anyone in the scene knows this. Competition mtb has turned to shit. Known fact
Nah hell nah, One of the riders will have people pleaser personality to eat up other riders lmao this is a competition you destroy each others dream of winning
I think they should also just have all the riders pick there top 1-3 runs and have a riders winner . Can’t vote for yourself. Do it 24-48 hours after comp so each rider can analyse video.
It is total BS if you go early in the event you don't place well. They build suspense with the scoring. This is the same corporate formula in every event now. We need a new event that goes back to the roots of Rampage with the riders ranking the rides after the event.
How much was natural and how much is man made ? Time to move to a new cove. Deduct a point for every sandbag used. The cliffs may of been high, but the route was as smooth and manicured as a skate park.

I think the idea of the judges seeing all the runs and having comparables with the scores coming out at the end of the first runs is a great idea.

Didn't she crash real bad

Because the logic for who you think wins is absurd. That's like saying Travis Pastrana won last year so somehow that has baring on this year

@@tjpighinThat's funny because Travis was always judge favorably just like Semenuk

In terms of personality, parallels with Eli Tomac?
The fmb and rampage scoring has always been a bit suss. They definitely have their favourites

Get rid of the Judges. Riders should decide. But you can't vote for yourself.
Yes.

They criticised Bren for relaxing and slowing up exactly like Brandon was doing.
Brandon did it once and he was setting up for a super gnarly trick. Bren did it like 4 times unnecessarily for features that where not that gnarly

Scotty cranmer Gypsy tales episode
the last 5 minutes somes up redbull joyride, I MEAN RAMPAGE!... sorry, rampage yeah.....
It's funny how much people take stuff out of context to pad their ideals
Im more okay with Brandon winning that Zink winning last year
Godzy n brendog got robbed th3 judges made it worst rampage ever it should be one rider one line

Exactly.. just call it a big mountain slopestyle contest
Obviously you didn't pay attention or watch the whole pod. They talk about mam made.
Smooth riding, but that line was boring af.
Zink looks entertained, Strait looks like a bitter old lady.
