Sorry to hear that things haven't been good, prayers for you and your family, your info and knowledge got rid of my off idle stumble, am running a 285 duration cam in my 454, stepped up to a 50cc accelerator pump and bigger discharge squirter that solved out of the hole bog, would not have been able to do that without your help. Nice to have you back Randy, your past vids were of good help to fix all the carb issues the car had when I got it, from fuel leaks to idle issues... all good now. Working on getting the jetting on the nose and adding the delated thermal choke mechanism back and running.

I have a 3310-1 modified with a 850 base plate and use the manual choke for high idle only, No choke plate. The solenoid is a great alternative for carbs , mostly race carbs that have no mounting bosses for choke hardware so that a manual choke could be used. For example: Holley 950 80496-1 no choke tower, no choke mounting bosses BUT does have the solenoid mounting pad that could be drilled and tapped for the solenoid / bracket. This is great information for guys not wanting to sit in the car feathering the throttle, Thanks for showing this randy.
How about we put that solonoid on a movable bracket linkage and have a second one that can push that one? Now we have high idle for a/c and anti-diesel.
Ford had a vacuum and electric solenoid combined back in the 80s , the electric was anti dieseling and the vacuum was the a/c kicker which worked off a vacuum solenoid that energized when the a/c clutch was turned on.
Yeah mine stopped working on my 86 d150 when I kick the AC on when it's in Drive it will stall I made up for bringing the idle up I did buy another one I'm going to put in on eBay for about $50 I'm hoping that's all it was but I think it is
I have a Summit Racing carb on my 406 sbc and have a problem dieseling. I tried to find a solenoid bracket that would fit but no luck. I ended up making one out of a piece of steel. It works OK but tends to flex so the idle rpm isn't as consistent as I'd like. Do know of a place that has a variety of brackets? Thanks.

A bad solenoid could cause the engine to stall.

Go to google punch in holley carb , then punch holley carb solenoid brackets, may won't to call holley and ask which one fits your carb.
