    I know this is too late for you but for others organizing their baby items:
    Put your baby things in the room that you plan to use them. Shampoos and lotions, bath things in the bathroom near the place you plan to bathe them not in the nursery. Plan for storage in the room you are most in normally. If that's your living room, put a caddy or a storage container in that room with burp cloths, wipes, a few diapers, pacifiers, nursing pads and accessories. Keep things you use most within hands reach and try to organize with the plan of being tired and keeping it easy. Spread things around the house, you don't need to put everything in the nursery.
    Also, you don't also need to buy everything at once. You don't need five or six baby shampoos and lotions, a closet full of clothes and all the baby gear before your baby comes. You only need what you need for the first couple months. And don't wash all the clothes until you know what size your baby will be. Untagging all the newborn size only to find out that your baby will be too big for most of them stinks. Then you can't take anything back if that's the case.
    You will get a lot of clothes for your baby shower but if you can, ask for gift cards and more practical items. That way you can use those gift cards for things you didn't think of as a new mother or as the baby gets older so you're not hitting a wall at 6 months and needing to buy a lot.
    Space out your spending. You don't need as much as you think and probably won't even use many of the items that you prepared for the baby, wasting hundreds of dollars. It's cute to have a fully loaded nursery but you only need the essentials.

      Veronica Watson thank you for this comment.. I’m 31 weeks and I just saw another TH-cam video about nursery storage and I absolutely felt overwelmd.. I don’t have an entire closet filled with clothes or shampoo and I can’t afford it even if I wanted to. So your comment really gave me back some energy. Thank you ❤️

    I personally plan to have clothes the baby will currently wear in the dresser and then older clothes in the closest, but what matters most is what is easiest for you. So it doesn’t really matter what we think. It’s whatever works for you. And I love that dresser. I’m still looking for a good one. I do think the handles look great the color they are now, but gold would look cute too.

  • @jackiedvarona
    @jackiedvarona 4 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    I have 2 suggestions for you... the closet is small and there’s wasted space at the bottom. Since baby’s clothes is so small I’d add a 2nd rack to the lower portion so you can hang more clothes. Next, I would store bath items in the bathroom. That will free up more drawer space :)

    You should hang all of the clothes that are more dressy in the closet and put the onesies in the dresser. I found that by hanging too much in the closet I didn’t reach for it as much cause I was done changing him I would just open the drawer for a onesie. And I put my sons everyday essentials as far as lotions, creams, diapers, and wipes in a nice bin on top of the dresser next to his changing pad. But do whatever works best for you! My son is 4 months and I’m constantly changing things in his room and going through clothes you may change your mind too like I did lol. I too have the chicco travel system how awesome. Love the video new subscriber here!

    I put all the clothes my daughter grew out of into a bin that I stored in the top of her closet! It helps give you room in the dresser for more clothes that you’ll get later on. Cycling them is what I did! Such a great idea!

    Love the video and all the organization! Your good at what you do, I would do the same as put all my baby stuff in the nursery, I personally dont like clutter all over the house and I believe things should go in one place. I have a baby myself, our house is two stories with 6 bedrooms and our baby sleeps in our master bedroom, I have all her stuff there as well and it has worked very neat. I have a portable play pen downstairs which has useful essentials like diapers, wipes, bibs, blankets, etc. and I would suggest having a basket that you can fill with useful stuff for every situation like bathing. Take, fill up, and go. All these people with negative comments or advice, so what if you have lots of stuff, what if you got a bunch of things for your baby shower? Overall its good to be prepared, as least you wont have to be going to the store while having a new born because you ran out of stuff like others. Also if you untag all the newborn stuff or opened all the new born diapers, so what, if your planning on having more children then they can use this stuff, unless your not, you can give them away :)
    Over all good video, nice nursery and home!

    You can always get a small bag for the first aid items to go into. When you go to target and walmart there are travel kits with soap and are in smaller bags. You could always get one of those. Take the little soap and shampoo they come with with you to the hospital or use it at home.

  • @samanthasin7291

    I have the MALM dresser from Ikea and the Skubb organizers as well. I’m 36 weeks right now. We actually don’t have a lot of stuff, which is fine lol. I literally only have that short skinny box of NB printed onesies and a big box of 0-3 months of white short&long sleeve onesies. 3 pairs of those full body suit onesies. No pants for NB. It gets hot in our house and in our area in CA. Plus you can always use a blanket.
    Don’t have a changing station. Going to utilize our DockATot as their bed as they sleep on our bed, use it as a changing station, and stick it into our portable Guava bassinet that is also can be changed out into a crib/play pen. It’s portable! It folds into a backpack.
    My top left drawer. I only opened one box of diapers due to the fact that we’re able to switch out sizes if they don’t fit anymore. His towels, burp cloths, lotion, nipple cream, nipple pads, and bibs.
    Top right drawer. All his NB clothes, socks, mittens, beanies. And it’s not much. I say it’s only a week and half worth of a wardrobe tbh. Because they grow so fast! Wouldn’t want to waste clothes.
    My other drawers are just blankets/swaddles, nursing bras, his other clothes that I pre organized already so when he’s ready to switch sizes I can easily move it up to the first drawer. & extra random stuff we got. Will be keeping diapers in the garage lol bc we have so much it can touch the ceiling in two piles. 🤣 kept the baby shampoo and wash in the bathroom. I didn’t want a baby bath tub, my boss recommended a bath sponge! Easily foldable and storage friendly.
    Keeping it minimal because there’s no extra room for baby in our household so he’ll be in our room the whole entire time for a while!

    I would put the bath stuff where you will be giving her baths. I would also get a little cubbie system (they have 2x2 at ikea for very cheap) to store extras of things, so for example, put all the bath stuff you'll need in the place you'll be bathing her and then put the rest of what you don't need or back ups in one of the cubbie shelves (www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kallax-shelf-unit-white-20275814/). And in the closet i would put the stuffed animals somewhere else because you can stack all your other diaper sizes on that shelf. also, the stuffed animals im sure are meaningful for you but your baby will have no idea what they are for months so maybe find another place so you can use all storage available:) hope this helps!

    Hi, hello, I just stumbled upon your channel and wanted to say congrats on everything, it’s all seems super exciting ☺️ I wanted to let you know about these things for the closet to try and get a little bit more space out of it, and it is something called Adjustable Closet Hanging Rod. I’ve had one before for my clothes and it makes a difference by adding another tier to hang more clothes on it. My grandma originally gave me mine but I saw some on Amazon that look every similar. Maybe a tension rod might work as well but I feel they
    are a lot less secure.

    I know this is an old video, but if anyone is watching, I wanted to warn you about the squirter bath toys. They are a breeding ground for mold and other pathogens since they trap water inside, and it's impossible to dry them out completely. It's much safer to use 100% closed silicone or natural rubber toys or to stick to things like bpa free stacking cups or ships.

    I know you already figured it out and I’m late but I keep my first aid kit in my diaper-bag and another one in our walkway but definitely suggest keeping it in that bag maybe another draw or a bin on top of the dresser

    The bath items would be better in the bathroom. When my son was a baby, I did the same thing and I regret it. Plus, you can have a whole extra drawer for future baby items.
    One thing I’ve learned, not every empty space or object needs to be filled ❤️

    I know this video is a year old, but I really wanted to say that I love that you show the nursery has been worked on in stages instead of all at once. It feels more realistic than most of these I've watched and it's really refreshing

    Wow I'm watching this 1st jan 2020 so many different products for the baby I hope her skin is not irritated by any of them. Buy only a small size of a product see how baby gets on with it if ok you can then buy the large size. Babies really don't need that much stuff, there is so much we buy and don't use. Have a look a the pile of stuff you haven't used by the time baby is 6 months old. You have washed all the clothes then hang them up to get dusty as they will be by the time baby gets to wear them, store older clothes in a box where they can stay clean. Best wishes to you

    Great idea to store bigger clothes separately, I know one TH-camr also kept a basket in the nursery to throw any clothes that don't fit to be placed in storage for baby #2. My suggestion with regards to the drawers would be to not keep every single nappy in the top drawer. If you think about it, as she gets older you will be buying nappies as you go and you won't have such a huge supply. Rather keep most of them in the closet to free up useful space and then place more everyday items in the top drawer with a smaller stack of nappies. Sorry for the long ramble... I hope it helps

    The grey bag of gadgets can be put in a bathroom cabinet where she will be bathed???
    You are coming along Britt but you will probably have everything changed around the first month so dont overthink... it will all fall into place.... Breathe 👍😁🤣🤗

    I dont suggest opening all packs of diapers, because if your baby is bigger or grows bigger you could easily exchange a smaller unopened size for a bigger one

    Those ikea like containers you mentioned that were on amazon are from Ikea, so you could’ve ordered them on Amazon and gotten a bigger pack for less and gotten them faster, just FYI.

      @BrittaniKrebbs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kira Sayarath They are actually more expensive on Amazon! I got them for less on IKEA! Amazon is 18 for $37 and I got 18 for $25

    • @kirasays4838
      @kirasays4838 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brittani Krebbs ahh I see. Yea, you have to really pay attention with amazon bc they try to make us think they are cheaper but they aren’t all the time lol. I did however get mine from Amazon only bc I wanted them the next day lol the only real perk of Amazon ;)

    • @BrittaniKrebbs
      @BrittaniKrebbs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kira Sayarath Oh definitely! I thought they were cheaper at first too until I really looked. Then I had to decide if I wanted them quickly or wanted to pay a cheaper price. 😄
      Next day is so enticing though 😍🙌🏼

    If you change her on the dresser then I would put clothes that fit her earlier in the dresser and the clothes for later in the closet so you have on hand so you don't have to leave her alone

    Wow, we just got our travel system today, same exact one! We did take advantage of Black Friday savings though, also picked up the TARVA from IKEA two days ago as well! We are going to paint an olive green with gold knobs for our Jungle/Safari themed nursery for baby boy. Did you prime it before painting it? It looks really good, thanks for sharing!!
