Sorry, marina, you are dead wrong here. There's very little difference between a donation and a gift, but if you want to differentiate then the Tories accepted donations to their party and labour have accepted personal gifts to themselves. Gifts are closely related to bribery. For example, Labour were given an all expenses trip to a TH-cam event paid by Google and the next day they scrapped a bill that would punish social media funded events.
The Labour party has also been gifted a £4m donation from a cayman island hedge fund with stakes in fossil fuels, arms, private health care and much more, personally I think this is more worrying
and the "Green Finance Institute" has a chat with Rachel Reeves, and suddenly there's no public energy firm any more, just public money to derisk private profits... There's a pattern here
Marina, you are clearly a smart woman but unfortunately we are not as dumb as you think we are. It can’t be corruption if the stories do it but when your mates in labour do it it’s just fine.
Not enough it seems. They’re doing a lousy job of countering this. She’s right: it’s like 14 years of incompetence and open, blatant corrupt isn’t important any more. You’d think Labour could at least look better. Get Prentiss McCabe on the line.
Whatabouery is never a good excuse Marina. We assumed Labour would be better than this. I don't want to hear about the Tories ever again, I want to pretend they have gone, never to return. But nothing excuses what Labour is doing. You know that
But you can make that reply when certain sections of the media judge one party so much more harshly than the other even though the other party helped itself to 10's of billions of pounds and was probably the most blatantly corrupt government in British history. (I do agree that "IF ITS WRONG….ITS WRONG.!" however).
“That’s what needs to be scrapped” Well Labour is in power now and they don’t seem to be doing much scrapping. The 14 years of Tories argument is pointless. That’s in the past now. Now all the responsibility rests with Labour.

Please ask Kier Starmer, what gift would I have to give him to do favours for the poor and underprivileged? Because they can’t afford to buy his clothes or his attention etc…
There's a pattern here
Cash for Peerages was a Labour thing, no?
Marina, you are clearly a smart woman but unfortunately we are not as dumb as you think we are. It can’t be corruption if the stories do it but when your mates in labour do it it’s just fine.
How much do you get paid to a labour PR person ?
Not enough it seems. They’re doing a lousy job of countering this. She’s right: it’s like 14 years of incompetence and open, blatant corrupt isn’t important any more. You’d think Labour could at least look better.
Get Prentiss McCabe on the line.
Whatabouery is never a good excuse Marina. We assumed Labour would be better than this. I don't want to hear about the Tories ever again, I want to pretend they have gone, never to return.
But nothing excuses what Labour is doing. You know that
Marina (just like James O'Brien) has become the client media.
No, they’re the ones who are holding client media to account
Caring about the truth and what's right isn't client media.
Criticise the government for good reasons.
@@chrissharp3382No. Marina is client media.
@@coolbanana165Marina doesn’t care about what is truthful.
So what point is she making that Starmer is not quite as corrupt as the previous PM / PMs
You can’t keep giving the reply with whatabout the Tory’s. Sod them as well. IF ITS WRONG….ITS WRONG.! End of discussion!!
But you can make that reply when certain sections of the media judge one party so much more harshly than the other even though the other party helped itself to 10's of billions of pounds and was probably the most blatantly corrupt government in British history.
(I do agree that "IF ITS WRONG….ITS WRONG.!" however).
“That’s what needs to be scrapped”
Well Labour is in power now and they don’t seem to be doing much scrapping.
The 14 years of Tories argument is pointless. That’s in the past now. Now all the responsibility rests with Labour.
After 2 months in power, half of which was parliament in recess - what is your superpower - the bleeding obvious?
How the hell can she justify bribery ???
Sorry Marina, I love a lot of what you say and stand for, but you're wrong. Whataboutery isn't going to help labour because all you're actually doing is reinforcing the idea that there is NO DIFFERENCE with Labour. This is counterproductive against yourself.
Wrong. There IS a difference. These gifts were from a donor who is ALREADY A PEER and has no need for favours in return. Plus, they were all declared. Marina was saying that the Tories accepted gifts & donations for favours & peerages which they did! Of course there's a difference!
@@InterestedParty25 Already a peer who runs businesses and has business interests. But please feel free to carry on normalising bribery because labour is doing it.
@@SlinkShady Go on, prove that this is 'bribery'. What has been asked in return? No? Thought not.
@@InterestedParty25 where's my reply gone???
Horrid poison woman!
0:10: "So what about the Tories..."
Whataboutism? Have we really sunk to that already? Do better Marina.
Not about whataboutism, it's about the disparity of the outrage shown, it was a tory norm to promote someone to the lords if the donation was sizable enough, lest we forget one of the promoted is the son of KGB Colonel, against the advice of the security services; how much was a roll of wallpaper again; a week hardly went by when a tory wasn't cooking something, either donation or contract related, where was the outrage then?
It was so bad that you'd think the daily mail had turned into hello magazine with the amount of Harry and Megan coverage when ever a tory had spaffed up, in an attempt to steer people away from real scandal. You think this is low, the tories, sun, daily fail, telegraph, express, all the usual suspects had taken politics to the bottom of the mariana trench and dredged it clean. Where was the outrage though; so yeah faux outrage.
14 years of ruin and this is what they get outraged at pffff.
'Whataboutism' is a disingenuous accusation often levelled at those who point out an obvious false equivalence being used in an argument.
